Quitting TRT how has that gone for you? I'm pretty much there!!

It is very interesting to read all this. I started TRT on June 11 and really don't feel all that different than before TRT (started at 50MG cyp E3.5D and am now at 60MG cyp E3.5D). Still very tired all day. Still don't sleep all that well - wake up many times a night for no reason (yes, i've had a sleep study) Still have brain fog. I coach my daughters soccer team and can't for the life of me remember all 15 girls' names. Going to the gym is a complete grind.
I realize I'm still early in the game and plan to stay on TRT for at least 6-12 months before making judgement. I've read many medical studies that indicate relieving low T symptoms can take upwards of 6-12 months. Additionally I've ready the longer you've been low T, the longer is takes you body to adjust to TRT. I'm guessing I was low T for 10-11 years.
The only difference I've noticed thus far is slight increase in libido and erection quality - The wife is very happy as her libido is crazy high. No change in weight (a lbs or 2) or noticeable performance increase at the gym.
TT was at 190 prior to TRT and is now around ~700TT. The doc keeps looking at me like I should feel like superman going from 190 to 700TT. When I tell him I really don't feel all that different her gets a very odd look on his face.
E2 was slightly elevated on my last blood test so doc put me on a very low dose of AI - .2mg per week (I've gotten very good at pill cutting). I also started Zinc 50mg EOD and NAC 600MG ED and DIM 100mg ED. I'm due for more bloods next month.

Just keep your head up fellas. The tweak game is long for some. I played with doses, frequency, etc, for over a year now, and finally feel like I am on the final stretch. More bad days that good is always a positive. Before - it was just all bad days.

Worst case you "restart", hopefully get back to prior state, and reassess.

Give it time. It took me a year see most mental sides disappear, and around 2 years before major physical changes became noticeable. You're basically waking up from a coma; give it awhile for everything to register. :)

Maybe you're right and I just allowed myself to be duped by everything I've read, which indicated that 4-8 weeks after the start of treatment I'd be feeling better. Feeling like superman was never one of my expectations, I just wanted to stop feeling like walking roadkill. I was just so stoked to finally figure out what was wrong with me and I assumed relief was just around the corner. Patience has never been one of my virtues.

Edit: Still hoping someone can chime in on the OP's original question about experiences with discontinuing TRT. I know I stopped cold turkey for over a month while changing doctors and I felt no difference at all.

If TRT isn't working after being on it for a period of time, I recommend checking your SHBG.

And remember that guys with normal testosterone levels can still feel lousy. There are other possible health issues that can cause the symptoms being described here. We have to be careful to not become the guy with the proverbial hammer that thinks everything looks like a nail.
