I know a few cops out in Cali that are all on - I asked them once if they ever pulled anyone and found it? They said yes, they just take it and let them go. They guy stopped is thankful he isn't being arrested so they typically cool about it. If they have other drugs like weed and roids -- the roids never get turned in.

Hate on Ronnie all you want, but I'd rather have cops using gear, HGH, and slin over being alcoholic womanizers, potheads, or crackheads (which MANY more tend to be).
It's a bit hypocritical IF he does bust someone for gear, but nobody has evidence that he has, so therefore NBD. Ronnie was a cop before he was a professional bodybuilder, and I don't think he should have given it up just because one facet of his life disagrees with the law.
Plus it is highly unconstitutional for the PD to be like "ummm well Big Ron you're a mighty large human so we're suspect that you may be using illicit performance enhancers...sorry bud can't hire you"...this is akin to being like "Yes sir we'll hire you because you're Asian and you're good with numbers!"

when i was younger i had a few buddies who sold weed, coke, etc etc...one got busted....the other didnt, he just had to feed this cop $800 a wk cash. fucking pigs, so this guy is the law huh...?? total bullshit.

I studied Criminal law in college and the case laws and history behind most of them. State side rulings and Supreme Court rulings. etc... There is more action taken against law enforcement officers now than before. From what I studied the domestic violence laws were tailored due to police officer abuse of the system. While in the process of a domestic trial, you can not carry a weapon etc. They abused the lein system so now it is a felony for misuse of the lein system. It was a majority opinion by Justice White because of police officers shooting fleeing suspects now called the "fleeing felon rule". They are held to a higher standard and should be but the job is very frustrating on both sides when they want to be part of the public but can not. Take it from me I studied criminal statistics and law violations are a lot more common than the news portrays. Officers I've befriended have all said in some way they wish they could do certain things if it wasn't for the career they chose.
Now this about Ronnie. Most union contracts do not have that provision for testing anabolics. Normally just the normal panel. Im sure his colleagues are aware of his usage but can not question him or he could file a grievance? Maybe a lawsuit? It's his way of using the law to his advantage. Im sure his superiors have always kept a close on eye on him and dont exactly condone his secondary career.

Just reading through here and everybody definitely hit one main fact on the head. How could someone using steroids make an arrest of someone else. I can say this because you all are on the right track. I spent a summer in a court room for a class taking notes and studying court room characters and there purposes in the room. I watched a lot of cases come through district and circuit court. I did watch a few steroid cases come through.
My opinion, Ronnie can either be viewed as a liability in any steroid case because of his suspected usage or the agency could use him for his knowledge of the steroid social circle.. It could go either way. Most likely for the liability reasons for a case to NEVER include him on raids or steroid investigations. I would think they would never use him.
A smart prosecutor would probably do anything to keep his name out of a court room too. Mainly out of the chair so he can't be crossed examined by a Defense Attorney. Any aggressive attorney willing to win a case will try to cross examine him and point out or get away with what ever he can in that court room. May not be inadmissable mostly stricken or a judge may instruct a jury to ignore statements but dont count on a good attorney not to grab at straws. Ronnie may have a case cause a mistrial atleast that's my opinion.

If Ronnie had no choice (like if there was another cop with him etc.), he would bust someone. If it was a one-on-one thing, he probably wouldn't. This probably applies to most roid using cops.

One of my favorite sources when I was younger was a medically disabled cop In Venice beach. Happened to be in the same the same circle as Arnold and Franco just to name a couple. That was a good connection I got to know who the narks were LOL.
