Should I go for TRT or not?

First started investigating TRT 2.5 years ago and various TT tests have bounced around at 308, 411, 440, and now 280 and 290. Looks like I've found a Doc willing to try TRT.

I've done much to try and improve my well being- careful about quality and quantity of sleep, eat even healthier, continue to exercise, cut the porn and masturbation, started on TongKat Ali..... it has all helped.

My energy levels have improved, the brain fog is less, But I still tire easily, have big mood swings, wake up at weird times, and don't have the libido I used to.

So, should I do this? I guess my biggest fear is what if I start this and decide I don't want it? It's possible my body's natural production of T might not resume to the level it was at before- right?

Any thoughts or advice?

yes if you start you won't have natty t production as high as it is now, which is nothing to write home about. How old are you? Have you done any steroid cycles before?

Thanks for the response. I am a few months shy of 51. I have never done steroids.

I'm 45, have been on trt for 13 months, and can honestly say that it has helped me in so many ways. But, my pre trt test level was at 170. I was barely functioning. I wasn't living. I didn't realize how bad it was, until I compared it to how good I feel now.

Does porn and masterbation decrease test levels? srs.

Right. If you start TRT you are pretty much committed for life. If you stop, your test levels are not likely to totally recover and you would be worse off than before.

I started at age 70 with test levels of about 270. I self inject every 4 days using a small 29 gauge 1/2 inch needle. My total test levels are in the 800 to 900 ng/dL range. I love the results. For me it was the right decision. For you, it's hard to say.

looking at porn is said to increase test production, but excessive jerking has been shown to lower levels from what i've read on it. a healthy jerk schedule won't hurt ya lol

And what exactly would be considered a healthy jerk schedule?

First off welcome!

TRT for those that need it is truly a life savor, I hate to even think about what life was like for me before making the decision to go on TRT. The very first thing you should do is to get a sleep study done to rule out sleep apnea. Having sleep apnea has a dramatic impact on Test levels. Once you address the sleep apnea issue you need to then see where your levels are at and how you feel before making the decision to commit for life to TRT.

Best of luck!

Yeah I've done a sleep study- no sleep apnea, no restless leg syndrome.

You guys should check out Your Brain On Porn- it was a real eye opener.

Basically the tiredness, brain fog, ED, low libido, anxiety, can all be related to excessive PMO (porn, masturbation, orgasm). You basically kill off your dopamine receptors by overstimulation.

But you have to also take into consideration the other side. I have gotten so use to having little to no libido for so long that sex never crossed my mind. I discover that I have low T (very low T) and get on TRT and now I am a 42 year old man with the libido of a 17 year old teenager. Sex is all I think about 24x7, I can not even look at a woman and not think about what she would be like in bed, so having high libido like this is over stimulation at the very least. I have gotten to the point that I am able to put it out of my mind but the high libido does have a tendency to take over at times and I have to remind myself that I am a professional and must stay focused on my work. I am not saying that watching tons of porn and jerking it 7 times a day is healthy just saying that I can understand it if someone does.

Maybe thats what im experiencing ATM lmao. Seriously. My schedule isn't every two hours though lol mines more like before bed and once I wake up. Maybe I should try to lay off for a while and see how I feel, never knew it can cause those things....do you happen to have any links to research on this?

I'm on trt, test levels were low 200s right before I did, 48 yrs old. For me it is a must. Feel great, look great, happy, etc... the downside is a weekly or bi-weekly injection and also numerous blood work up front so your doc can get you set at the right levels. it's very time consuming. as well, leaving the country with vials and syringes, vacations and having to pin, etc... it is a mild inconvenience. For me, it definitely has been worth it. But I'm on it now until death lol as my test won't rebound to anywhere normal levels even though they are low at older ages. I do know guys who have been on trt and gone off, use hcg frequently along with clomid restarts to recharge their nutsack, but it gradually tapers off and they are left doing it again and again.

by the way I sleep like shit, even while also on hgh, I'm a sleep eater too. so it hasn't helped my sleep. other imbalance of chemicals are responsible for that.
