Hey guys, Im gonna begin by saying I am 18, 5'10, around 190 and 18%
stats: Bench: 225x6, squat: 245x4, deadlift:225x15

A little background...
My whole teenage life I felt very anxious, never had energy and just didnt really have the libido a teenager is supposed to have. I have been killing myself working out super hard and pushing myself past the boundaries and my body and strenght are still shit compared to what they should be.

I moved to a dorm this year as a freshman and due to it I havent been able to weight and track my macros so I just have been all you can eating and have gained 25-30 lbs and now look even more like shit. Worst part is when I cut back down Ill look the same as I started..

Anyways getting to the point when I was 17 I went to an endo and got my test checked and it came out to 173ng..which as you guys may know its incredibly low. The doc said it was "fine" because since I was underage the normal range is anything below 1000ng...

Anyways since I am 18 now I am getting checked again and I made up my mind that even if my doc doesnt prescribe me test Im going to go UGL

But what should I do about my diet? Should I cut down to prepare for Trt or should I keep bulking? I am just scared that if I cut ill look the same as I did once I started..

Sorry for the long rant

Similar situation to mine, you will need full blood tests, the works. LH/FSH, Total Test, Free Test, Estradiol (E2), SHBG are the key ones. Also Vitamin D, I would get a full hormone panel done.

Are you on medications? Have you ever used any natural supplements, prohormones or steroids prior to this or has it been this way your whole life. Don't jump on, you will completely skewer the results and make this far harder to fix.

Didnt get any of those...just Vitamin D and it was low.
Not on meds, and nothing like that, just protein and pre-workout.
And I will if my doctor doesnt prescribe me, this life sucks

Do you snore? Wake yourself up snoring? Part of my low readings are because I have sleep apnea. This blows because my endo is waiting and seeing if some time with a machine will raise them naturally. My guess is that they may rise, but they'll still be low. I can't believe lack of restful sleep has such a bearing on your test levels.....

Believe it. Sleep apnea can absolutely tank your testosterone levels.

You need full and recent bloodwork, exactly what Staunch said. Theres a chance you could avoid TRT and get your natty test working again, but we won't know without bloods.

lot s of variables to this low test reading including a bunk blood test.

Now, from an old man take heed. Augmenting your test at 18 is not a good idea w o medical supervision. I know at 18 your yearning to improve your body..almost everyone on this board was there son. ( that was a term of endearment and empathy). TRT at my age is almost a forgone conclusion but you do realize that trt is an almost for sure life long commitment and with the hammer that the dea is dropping on doc s and silly media attack s on trt patient s and litigation it is only going to get harder....and to let you inject yourself at home at home at 18-19....doubtful.

Please let mega, 3j and other s on here help you NOT get in a hurry, cancel out all causes to this low test before self medicating yourself.

here is what you do.. you call your old doc and request your labs to be released to you.. hippa regulations require a doctor to release that info to you.. so he cant say no..

once you have that come back with it and post it up.. we will help you out alot better with that info

your problem has unfortunately become more common among younger men. the problem can be genetic but more now then ever the chemicals and hormones in our food are causing men including older to gradually have lower and lower test levels. i will see it is not the food you buying from grocery stores that you cook yourself but fast food and i would guess the food at college is not the best quality. this means it has been chemically grown or in the meat case hormonally induced because the cost is cheaper. there has been a lot of research done on these issues and I'm not going to spout out information that no one wants to know... but i will say that you are not alone in this situation and being in the medical field myself i will guess that your doctor is aware of these issues. so when your new blood work comes back now that you are 18 ask your doctor different questions about diet and how that can help to increase natural T in regards to hormones in foods that you should avoid. if your test levels are below what they should be and you can get trt from your doctor then that will be great since you will have a medical professional monitoring you through everything that you will be doing. unfortunately most doctors will not give trt to a 18 year old unless there test levels are very very low. for you my recommendation would be to get good diet advice cut down to a good bf% and start working on getting a good lean muscle base as best as you can then once you have met with your doctor and talked to him about all your different options then decide if self administered trt is right for you.

Just be smart about it man, get all your bloods done, talk to a good specialist doc, you may try a restart and change up your diet/sleep patterns and see if quality of life starts to improve. Then go back 3-6 months later to do full bloods again, TRT isn't just something you hop on and then everything is magically all better.
Best of luck to you brother! Be safe

You need to get labs for your thyroid too. At least get a TSH, but i recommend TSH/ FREE t4/FREE t3. A wacked out thyroid will not let the endocrine system work properly. A lot of things can affect the HPTA and your testosterone. It's a very sensitive system, and there's a lot of shit that can go wrong with it in this day and age. Sleep quality, stress levels, nutrition, genetics, injury, etc. Those levels are considered hypogonadal by most standards. TRT has come under fire recently with all the negative media attention, think UFC and the "TRT/Heart disease" link bullshit. It's tough enough to get TRT even for some older guys. You might have your work cut out for you. Some open minded docs might help you though.

That would be a stupid thing to do. you are not finished development till around age 25. and you might be a late bloomer, using ANY steroids (like test shots) can stop or mess up your development. there is chance that by asge 24-25 your levels would be were they are supposed to, using aas now could make it so that you will never have high levels and will need to take shots for the rest of your life.
Talk to the doc, and wait till older if you are going to do it on your own IMO
