There was one of the football guys in there on day squatting 6 plates, for like an inch.

I just can't do it that low with out falling over backwards. My legs are too long and my torso is too short. Parallel is enough for me. 315 for 4 this week and it felt great.
Golden_Muscle said:Use lighter weight in order to do full squats. Anyone can do it as long as you have balance. Like the other guy said, normal squats are an ego thing, full squats are the only real kind.
I train with a guy who is 6'6, he cannot do that. He can get to paralles, taller people have longer legs in proportion to their torso, which makes it very difficult. We have tried with light weight, but the weight does not matter he just cannot get into that hole without it looking like a good morning. The best squaters i have seen are tall guys who are built like short guys. Mule kind of fits that profie, i had a friend in college who broke 800 as a sophomore and never squatted heavy again, he was natural, and probably could have been a world class powerlifter.Golden_Muscle said:Do you ever see a guy do half a bench press? Full range, or nothing. I dont do half anything., thats cheating yourself.

Flash_Gordon said:No your not getting it I have a short torso even when I squat down, like I just did my center of gravity is behind my heels unless I lean foward suported by my hands. My legs from floor to belt line are 43", 16" from just my knee to my belt line and from belt line to my shoulders is only 16". It's just a black thing I guess?? Okay so when I drop into the bucket my shoulder can almost touch my knees. They aren't over my knees they are behind them as is my center of gravity. And like jcp2 said to try and hold that position my back would be leaning foward more then 45 degrees. I do the best with my body proportions.
