SuGaRBuTT iN TRaiNiNG

...it should say SoLDieR iN TRaiNiNG...

Anyway. My boss tested me on PUs yesterday. After about a minute, I puke out, apparently. My 2-min and 1-min numbers are very similar. I'm scared if I pace myself to rest, that I'll stop before I reach true max.

1-1-1 Assessment

Before 'future soldiers' ship off to basic training, their recruiter gives them a 1-1-1 assessment: 1 minute of pushups, 1 minute of situps, and a 1-mile run...got mine done today:

25 pushups
30 situps (this is really weak...was hoping for about 40 at least...:sulk: )
7:48min. mile...I'm damn proud of this. For a girl my size, that shit is fasttttt...:wiggle:

So one of the trainers over at 24 Hour wanted to train me...I told him I would if he could come up with a good leg workout...it's been a while since I trained my legs, and lemme tell you...he got 'em burning...I'll try and remember what he did...

10 minute warmup on the elliptical.

Couple of sets of agility stuff as additional warmup...footwork stuff, really...

Squats:
Bar/15 as a warmup...nice to feel this again...haven't squatted in FOREVER.
(95/15) x 3 - each squat was to a different height...like, sometimes, I'd only go up a li'l bit before going back down, other times, it was a full squat...light weight, but it was good to squat again...I look forward to hitting 225 on these again...

SUPERSET #1
Leg press
((270+sled)/15) x 3 - slow on the way down, explosive on the way up

Leg extension
(50/15) x 3 - 2 sec. hold at top, slow lowering phase...this is where I was feelin' the burn the most...

SUPERSET #2
Leg curl
(70/15) x 2 - same deal here as LE...2 sec hold at top, slow lowering phase

Butt jumps
1 min. for 2 sets...

SUPERSET #3
Ball hamstring curls/bridges - basically, bridges w/feet on ball, followed by ball curls, then bridges from curl position...complicated to explain, but I could definitely feel my hammies...
12/1
10/1

Butt jumps
1 min. for 1 set

Lunges:
2 sets each of -
Low normal walking lunges with 10lb ball
Low backwards walking lunges with 10lb ball
Low sideways walking lunges with 10lb ball...I hate these. I have ZERO balance, so ANY type of walking lunge always kicks my ass...

Did a 10 minute cool-down on the treadmill. I was literally SOAKED in sweat. I don't even get that sweaty when I RUN. I can feel EVERY muscle in my leg when I walk now...:sulk:

Hey you Brat!!!! :shoot2: I have a love/hate with leg workouts. I usually end up with a headache during! I too have no balance with lunges. And don't get me started on squats............ :goof:

Hope things are going good for you!!!!
