Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) Plateau or Tolerance Issue

I've been on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for 15 years. Now 40 years old and walk around at 5'10 (190 quality muscle, maybe a realistic 5% body fat).

I've learned a combination of Test works better. For me it's been cyp and enan (basically a quicker and slower) acting combo to try to avoid the up and down. You really should shoot for 400mg total a week, and will find more consistent overall feeling by taking 200mg(combination) every 3 days. That and it never hurts to give yourself a nice extra 400mg at once (once every 30-45 days) but when you do that your better off with a longer acting like enanthate.

Also unless your insurance cost on it is cheap, don't waste your time with the gel or cream. I have gotten it cheap before with insurance and it will inevitably give you some extra T, which for you, the daily cream or gel might help if it's cost efficient for you.

Good luck.

I don't know everything, but 15 years of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has taught me what works for me. Obviously keep up with Aromasin, Tamoxifen, or something similar.

welcome to the group alldayeveryday. 15yrs on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is amazingly long. Its good to hear from someone with that much experience. What are your blood levels like on those doses? you ever get any negative sides?

15 yr HRT impact

Blood levels have always been good but I have always been consistent with taking an anti-estrogen and not going to much over prescribed amounts (my Doc is legit and don't want to ruin that relationship). Also diet and cardio have been consistent which I'm sure helps a lot more than a lot of us would like to admit.

Side effects - Occassional back acne but I have naturally oily skin and I attribute that to sweating at the gym and laying on back as much as the Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) as I don't get it anywhere else. Worse side effect would be the occassional mood swing but you learn, after 15 yrs, when you might be getting a little too worked up and shut it down. (Never hurts to have a little pharmeacutical calm down for those moments [val]).

It's honestly been great for me other than the 4 times in 15 years I've stopped abruptly due to $ or changing in insurance.

Never done oral but thinking about trying a low dose D for 4 weeks or so just to shock the body a little.

What are your Test levels at 400 mg a week? Just curious as this is pretty high for a Dr to prescribe. Though everyone is different...

PERSONALLY, I'M A TEST PROP GUY, MYSELF. I'M NOT SURE IF ITS JUST ME, OR IF OUR PHARMACIES ARE JUST SO GOOD, BUT I NEVER HAVE INJECTION SITE PAIN FROM TEST PROP. I KNOW THAT A LOT OF BRO'S SAY THAT THEY DO, BUT IMO, ITS REALLY WORTH A SHOT.... (NO PUN INTENDED) (MAYBE A LITTLE) :bigok:

Hey chip i have been on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for five years=200mg a week of cypionate and a few days ago i tried 40mg of prop with 140mg of cypionate and i gave me the worst anxiety i have ever had.Have you ever seen a case where somebody had real bad anxiety from such a low dose.

i, honestly, have never heard of that happening, not to say that what you were feeling wasn't real. I'm not quite sure whom you are dealing with so there could be a lot of variables. I can only vouch for all of my personal experience that i have in dealing with all of our pharmacies. Best of luck, bro.

Thanks for your answer chip, the cypionate is watson the prop is underground lab.

THAT COULD DEFINITELY BE THE ISSUE THEN. YOU REALLY HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT YOU ARE PUTTING INTO YOUR BODY. THATS WHY testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) WITH AN ESTABLISHED, REPUTABLE COMPANY IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. :bigok:
