Been dealing with hypogonal and hypothyroid problems for the past 2 years.

I'm 23yrs old, Before all of this I was very competative. Baseball, Wrestling. I always considered myself an alpha male.

To make a long story short, Everything started after a heart procedure. Depression, Fatique, loss of weight, no sefl confidence, could not sleep, pretty much my life was falling apart and I thought I was dying. Gp found test level to be 399 Ref: 132-813 and put me on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) without looking at anything else.

Alot of things got better but I still had problems.

6 months later under a new doc I completely chge my lifestyle(sleep, diet, etc) and went on Tamoxifen and thyroid meds.
Everything was fixed and I felt like myself once again. Now 4 months off Tamoxifen and I have lost motivation, labido and self confidence.

1 month off Tamoxifen:Total T:1100 (132-813)

ultasensitve e2: 30

I felt great..had my old self back

3 months off Tamoxifen: Total T: 660 (348-1197)

e2: 16

Started losing that feeling

4months off: Total T: 527 (348-1197)

e2: 15

Feel depressed, tired, no motivation and labido is almost non existant.

I guess my question is Do you think my Testosterone is causing a lot of my problems?

Fyi my lifestyle and thyroid are on check.

wow that is a hard one. I can see why no one has jumped on this one. I with i could say.

To be honest i think that is a question for a doctor.

Total T and E2 look fine. Did you get Free T tested brother?

Also, are you still on thyroid meds? If so which ones?

if your on thyroid meds then why isnt he looking into those values? Also why the hell would he not be testing for Free test, LH, FSH.... im suprised hes actually looking at your e2. most docs from what ives seen test for total free lh and fsh and nothing else. most over look e2.

When it comes to sex hormones he only really looks at e2 and TT. He has a lot of knowledge when it comes to hormones and he is way better than all the other docs I have had in the past.

The reference ranges also get me. I know 527ng/dl does not seem that bad but with the reference range of 348-1197ng/dl it puts me towards the bottom. Does this even matter?

527 isnt that bad. your free test is what your body is actually using so i dont know why he didnt test for that. there are MUCH beter doctors than him. the fact that he didnt test for much tells me a lot. my GP who i think is a good guy but isnt up to speed on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) had me tested for almost everything he could think of. a good doctor will look at everything not just a couple things and assume the rest.

from your bloodwork i would say your on your way to trt. they levels keep dropping off every month. i did Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and clomid and got my levels almost to 700 but it started dropping after i stopped taking it. now im on TRT.

I dont know why he does not test free t, he tests almost everything else for my body...I found him through forums. You might have heard of him: Dr Mariano

I'm not at all crazy about your drop off in just four months. At 23 years old, you are too young for your levels to be where they are at. If anything, our doc would probably suggest you a restart protocol, at a minimum, to get you fired back up again. Just my opinion. Good luck bro.

Thanks for the reply Chip..This is all after my second restart attempt. Both times everyting came back up but only to fall 4-5 months down the road.

Make sure you are doing enough thyroid. And check free t3 when you check thyroid status, not TSH. I had a PERFECT TSH of .80 and probably have the worst hypothyroid case anyone has ever seen. lol Oh yeah and from my research I've found that there are studies out there (old ones) showing that patients did not even improve on any dose under 180mcg of t4 or 180mg armor (the two are equivalent). They tolerated up to around 500 something mg of armor and 5xx mcg of t4. Though if you have hypothyroid symptoms like fatigue, it is probably best not to just take t4 because t4 may not be converting to t3 and whatnot.

My free t3, t4 are at the top of the ranges. I had trouble converting t4 to t3 so i take t4 and t3. I dont have fatique just no energy, labido, motivation etc..

My Dr does not seem to ever look at free t..
I am currently on 100mcg synthroid and 20mcg cytomel.

I would definitely test for Free T to see your bio available Testosterone.

Also, thyroid meds can cause you to feel lethargic. I would retest your levels as stated earlier in the thread brother.

I will check into free t and get lab retested..when I first started my restart I felt alright but still had problems and did not feel myself..once I started my thyroid everything was back to normal..since then the only thing that has chaged is the my T level

How can you have no fatigue, yet have no energy? lol
How much t3 and t4 do you take?

Its more tiredness to me than fatique..I take 100mcg t4 and 20mcg of t3..I just found out I have a cortisol am of 7 and low dhea so the doc wants me to start hydrocortison and dhea.

Got an update...So since supporting my adrenals my test level came up 100 points to 639ng/dl..I think it alright but my e2 is <15 which I think is giving me some problems. My diet sleep and lifstyle are all in check..I still have labido problems, joint pain and a overall feeling of shit most the time.

When I felt like myself after my restart I was sitting at Test: 1120ng/dl, e2: 29

Why is my e2 still so low?
