depends on your goals. you wont see a high level bodybuilder or powerlifter doing full body workouts often if ever because its not best for strength or size but i would assume its good for conditioning and overall fitness.

Im on my second cycle right now. Im doing test E my self and I do split because I want to get just a little size.

I use to do HIIT but you burn more calories like that.

This.

If your taking steroids im assuming your trying to gain muscle and strength. If normal health and well being was your goal it would be pointless to inject steroids... This being said I myself train 1 and only 1 bodypart per day. Alot of people train 2 and thats fine but heres my theory -

An example of someone who would do 2 bodyparts a day would be BACK & BI's..

Heres a workout routine for each

Bent over rows
deadlifts
machine rows
1 arm dumbbell rows
lat pull downs
-----------------
1 arm concentration curls
hammer curls
alternating dumbbell curls
curl bar curls

NOW I dont know about anyone else here, but if im hitting the weights as hard as I possibly can and putting 100% into my workouts there is no damn way im doing 4-5 back exercises including 400+ deadlifts for reps and STILL be able to go hard on biceps.. Biceps are going to lack big time bc I went hard on back.

Moral of the story - I train one bodypart a day and think it brings the best results.

ye my goal is to put on size, cheers for the advise il stick to my split then,
how many workouts do and sets per muscle group would be the best way to train? at the moment im doing 3 compound and 2 isolation per big muscle grupe and 4 sets of ten per workout, and on back day i do biceps 2 workouts 4 sets of 10 per workout and on chest day i do triceps 2 workouts 2 workouts 4 sets of 10 per workout,
am i doing too little or too much?
any advice would be appricieated

Totally agree! legs, back, chest, shoulders, bi-tri. There are you 5 days a week and pick your 2 rest days.

The only reason I see to do full body workouts is to burn fat. If your burning that much fat you WILL go catabolic and lose muscle in the process.

I eat far to often and far to much and have been trying to gain weight for far to long to go this route. Cut with caution, its easier to lose weight than to gain.

One thing i always recommend is a weight increase even if you reps fall down a little it gives you a goal to hit that number. Then increase it again even just a pound or two. You are keeping a journal too i hope?

Yeah like the bis and chest then wait two days for tris and back. That way like numba1 said if your slamming your bis you wont have a weakened row or lift for your back.

I followed this theory as well, but then decided to go back to doing back/bis, chest/tris. And am acutally seeing better results. Ill prob go back to splitting them up. However combining them is working good, for now.

IMO, you get bicep size from doing heavy back, more so then from doing biceps. Doing curls and such will form the bicep, but getting overall size is achieved when doing heavy back. Even though you're pre-exhausted and can't do a full bicep workout, doesn't mean they're not getting a workout. Ill do 3-4 back workouts always starting with a compound like bent-over rows, then only have to do 2-3 bicep workouts to achieve that really good pump. same on chest tri day.

Also for me it helped with elbow pain putting them on the same day. That way I wasn't killing the tricep twice a week by doing chest one day, then tris another. Was getting it all done in one day, giving the elbow time to recover before thrashing it again.

Really its to each his own, but Ive done both ways, both work.

I will go out on limb here and prescribe to the methods of Dorian Yates for myself. That is where I see the best gains and it's tested off exactly the same cycle as mine test deca dbol. It's all about how you genetically respond best to both aas and training for hypertrophic growth. Some are different but my way works.

I guess I think about it differently. I prefer Back/Bi and Chest/Tri days. I feel like after hitting my back hard I can do a good Bi workout just to finish them off after being pre exhaust from the rows. It seems to work for me better than other splits so that is what I tend to stick with. But I do still switch it up from time to time and everyone is different. I think if you can find something that works for you and keeps you interested in going back to the gym for your next workout that is more important than in exactly what order you work what muscle.

I did this: 5x5 (variant)#1.chest, shoulders, triceps; #2.back, biceps, traps; #3.quads/glutes, hamstrings, calfs. Work in abs twice a week, cardio ED, and rest day once or twice a week.

I would focus on more bodybuilding and powerlifting routines while on cycle. Incorporate compound movements that are basically full body movements like deadlifts, squats, clean & snatch, bench presses, rows, pull-ups, dips. Add in your smaller muscle groups to bigger muscle groups...examples:

Chest/Shoulders & Triceps
Legs (quads, hams, calves)
Back & Bicep

Just keep rotating and perform different exercises each workout...and eat, eat, EAT!!!

Shouldn't you already know how to train before you go on gear? But split is always the way to go

What are your goals from lifting/aas? Either way a split is always better but how you split it and how you lift are totally diff depending on your goals. Stats would help too. Let us know cuz there are some really smart and experienced bro's on here that can help you reach those goals!

Dorian Yates wrote a good article on this. Do a search for it online.

Everyone is different, but basically, Juice will allow you to train longer and harder with more intensity. This means your recovery will be MUCH QUICKER...allowing you to return the gym UN-phased by the BEATING you put your body through the previous day.
