Who is your favorite bodybuilder(s) ?

agree with doc, franco should have had that in 75, he had an awesome chest, not to mention the rest of his upperbody.

What's interesting about that '75 Olympia is that it's all documented in the movie "Pumping Iron". Check it out and you'll see that Franco was definitely the man that had it all together...chest, arms, shoulders, lats. He was massive and cut. In any case, the film shows what he accomplished.

Mine happens to be Victor Martinez for his physique and those huge arms and gorgeous looking legs especially his diamond-shaped, defined calves. The other one is Johnnie Jackson and his physique is bangin' too. Another thing about Vic is you could pretty much see that he has that rare 8- pack going and that makes him look even better.Victor Martinez is da man

Franco?
Come on!!! Franco was huge but could have been situated in Arnolds posing trunks without being noticed!! I'm 6' 2 and understand that people view a larger individual loaded with muscles in a different realm than a 5' 11 bodybuilder.... Good reason our brains/eyes focus on the larger stimulus thrown our way.. Ronnie is only 5' 11 but the meat on his frame blows all our minds!! When a Pro comes along breaking the six-foot mark with all the visual ideals/size Ronnie has, Ronnie can retire.. Until then, we all need to realise that height rules!!!!!!!!!!

My favourite body builders are: Steve Reeves for his great natural development, Arnold for his huge but not overdone perfect physique, and Frank Zane who I think fits in between the two, best of both worlds ;)

Absolutely Franco

Hey Majoris,

It sounds like you think Franco winning the Olympia because he was 5'5" was out of this world. The only thing out of this world is Franco's muscularity, size, definition, and strength! He is the epitome of bodybuilding and a role model for success in many other fields of endeavor. In a room full of giants, Franco would stand head and shoulders above them all.

no, no he wouldn't. he's only 5'5". he won't be doing much standing over people.

You guys got it all wrong except Doc and SanDiegoJack. Bodybuilding isn't only about height Majoris. First of all when you compare Franco and Arnold in Pumping Iron, Franco is way more muscular. Franco's striations and symmetry were top of the line, for anyone who understands bodybuilding at least. Compare Arnold's back and Franco's. Franco had one of the widest backs. What it comes down to is Franco had the symmetry, the mass, the definition, and everything else needed to be a top of the line bodybuilder. Franco should have won in '75 without a doubt. So if you knew anything about bodybuilding, you would know height isn't the only thing the judges look for bro. It does play a factor, true...but saying that Franco's 5'5" frame should have basically took the Olympia away from Franco--that couldn't be further from the truth.

I would have to say arnold and lou. Man these guys were wicked. Not only were they tall, but they had the mass that matched there height. These guys are my inspirtation to keep pushing since I am also really tall

XXIcemanXX's got it right!

XXIcemanXX's post is what bodybuilding is all about. As far as that '75 Olympia, Franco had the mass, definition, symmetry, and muscularity. And his back, with that tremendous lat spread! As Padilla said in the movie, "He could fly with that!"

So, Majoris, if you're that hung up on height... go for Shaq.

Lou wasn't too bad, he was tall and he did have the mass to go with it, but he didn't have the same definition as Arnold did. I thought Lou deserved his 3rd place finish in Pumping Iron. But like SanDiegoJack and I keep saying, Franco was the man back then, whether the judges thought so or not.
