Although it is assumed that most mammals experience growth plate closure and cessation of bone growth soon after sexual maturity, bone growth in rats continues throughout their lifespan. The rat was compared to other laboratory animals to assess differences in the duration of bone growth and its relationship to age at sexual maturity and lifespan. We reviewed the literature from 1966 to March 1999 by searching MEDLINE and other databases. Growth closure times and age at sexual maturity were retrieved for the mouse, rabbit, dog, cat, sheep, cow, horse, nonhuman primates, and human. For all species, we calculated the ratios of: 1) age at growth plate closure to lifespan, 2) age at growth plate closure to age at sexual maturity, and 3) age at sexual maturity to average lifespan. The ratio of age at physis closure to the average lifespan was large for the rat (22 to 35) and showed some overlap with that of humans (17 to 25); this ratio was comparatively small in all other nonhuman species (range, 4 to 17). This finding indicates that bone growth continues in the rat for a greater proportion of their lifespan than does that in other species. The ratio of age at physis closure to age at sexual maturity was larger for the rat (5 to 6) than that for other species, indicating that bone growth continues much longer after sexual maturity in rats than in other animals. The ratio of age at sexual maturity to average lifespan was largest for humans and nonhuman primates (13 to 14), indicating the increased time to reach puberty versus that in other species. These differences are important for studies in which animal models are used in research involving bone growth.

Post all the studies you want, bottom line is that you are too young goat ass, you're only 19.....right ??.....Oh Yes you are !!



Until the age of 24, your body is overflowing with testosterone and growth
hormone. If you can't make progress without drugs when you're still young, you
need to re-evaluate a few things -- mainly your training and your
supplementation. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to progress on a
consistent basis without drugs. And if you can't, chances are you won't do much
better with drugs.

no, i will be 19 in august, by then i will be half way done my cycle. i will let you know my results. i predict i will put on a good thirty lbs, i will be you money on it. what do you predict, that i will never be able to get a boner again because i did a cycle at 18?

No. I think the point he's trying to make is stated very succintly in Easto's signature. You don't need drugs at 18. They're simply a crutch at that age.

30lbs??!! now think about this logicly(i know its hard at 19, i was there once too) in a 8-12week time your body is gonna put on 30lbs of muscle......do you really think that thats a good thing? i started lifting when i was 20 in 2 years time i put on 25lbs of natural mass..and after i realized that good form and eating the rights things were the key for me, things went great.

no but when you are 35-40 and you have all that extra flab, and hormonal problems because you made your body progress TOO fast at 18 you might think back and say..."wow i had no clue what i was doing at 18-19, i should have listened to those vets that were trying to help me but i was 19 and thougth i new everything about life" i see high school kids on gear in my gym, and id love to smack everyone of them...first they are screwing with there hormones, second they dont have a clue about form, reps(they think that just because they put 285 on and get it back up is doenst matter that it smacks off there chest so hard its liek hitting a bass drum), and third all they talk about it drinking and how they got drunk last night and all the shit that 19yr olds do...if you gonna train and dirnk ok..its just your progress your fuckin up...but if your gonna juice and drink its you guts, brain, and jsut about everything else your gonna screw up. but at the age of 19 you cant expect to know this shit.

ps-im not trying to flame you... but when i was 19 i needed to be talked to like this because that was the only way id listen :)

yeah, estrogen causes growth plates to close, not androgens. if you use somethign that doesn't aromatize you won't stunt growth.

BACKGROUND: The role of oestrogens in the closure of growth plates in both sexes is unequivocal. We postulated that inhibition of oestrogen synthesis in boys with delayed puberty would delay maturation of the growth plates and ultimately result in increased adult height. METHODS: We did a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in which we treated boys with constitutional delay of puberty with testosterone and placebo, or testosterone and letrozole. Boys who decided to wait for the spontaneous progression of puberty without medical intervention composed the untreated group. FINDINGS: Letrozole effectively inhibited oestrogen synthesis and delayed bone maturation. Progression of bone maturation was slower in the letrozole group than in the placebo group. In 18 months, bone age had advanced 1.1 (SD 0.8) years in the untreated group and 1.7 (0.9) years in the group treated with testosterone and placebo, but only 0.9 (0.6) years in the letrozole group (p=0.03 between the treatment groups). Predicted adult height did not change significantly in the untreated group and in the placebo group, whereas in the group treated with letrozole the increase was 5.1 (3.7) cm (p=0.004). INTERPRETATIONS: Our findings suggest that if oestrogen action is inhibited in growing adolescents, adult height will increase. This finding provides a rationale for studies that aim to delay bone maturation in several growth disorders.
