Good job keeping the log going man. Milk gives good advice glad to see he jumped on here.

Man 22 sets of legs is no joke, not counting calves. Anxious to see how your feeling tommorow. Whats your intensity like? I would need a stretcher to leave the gym after that one.

Curious what the guys would say about a little less volume more sets with only hitting one or two compounds per session?

D- what do you think the other guys will say? 22 sets of legs in one day? Like you said, I would need a wheelchair to get out of there. Hopefully it was low intesity, cruse weight.


Scouser5- take a look at the Training section and you will find a thread started by mikea for Dlove. It is a great lift routing. Focuses on High intesity, low volume pl style. Like Dlove said, one or two compounds per session will do just fine. I have been doing it like this for a while now and I can tell you I have never had this much succes lifting then I am having right now with that lifting style. btw, I dont train biceps and they are bigger than ever...go figure.

thanks for the tip fugazee, will look into that. Im definitely looking at gearing towards high intensity low volume.
 
Day 8

*NO TRAINING*

Sunday wasn't the greatest, a good friend of mine died from sudden death syndrome. 30 years old,fit, just died after complaining of chest pains, couldnt believe it!

3rd injection of 250mg test e. First 3 attempts I drew blood but eventually found a spot on my left glute.

Also had my first inject of HCG 250IU. I was going to run 500iu but seeing as I'm starting it in week 2 then 250iu should be sufficient.

I also started taking an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). I started with Aromasin 12.5 on Sunday but my AIFM arrived today Monday(very quick delivery, ordered it Saturday) so I will use that from here on out. I only used one pump on the forearm area to see how it is.

Overall general wellness is good except for my knee joint being a bit sore, other than that feel good and eager to hit the gym!

*Fugazee, thanks for that routine, it is definitely something Im going to use, I also like the look of the 5x5 method. I may start with the 5x5 and progress on from there.
 
Day 9

*Monday June 1st 2009

Started 5x5 routine.
Chest and Back

Chest:
Incline Bench Press
Chest Dips

Back:
Wide Grip pullups
D/bell Rows

Abs:
Cable crunches
Reverse crunches w/10lb d/bell inbetween feet.

The 5x5 routine kicked my ass! I really enjoyed it though, putting up more weight and it was a good workout. Good pump from the 2 trisets.

* The AIFM I applied to myu wrist gave me an allergy type reaction due to the smell. No rash or anthing. It says to apply before bed, I will need to try that tonight.
 
Day 10

*2 pumps of AIFM

*NO TRAINING

Done some light cardio, dont know if its just me but cardio has got increasingly more difficult since I stated this cycle. I was sweating shitloads but the intensity wasn't there.

^Got very little sleep, would sleep for 45mins/1 hour then lay awake for 15-20mins at a time as well as sweating a ton while in bed.:sleep:
 
Day 11

Shoulders, Triceps, Biceps

Upright Rows (105lbs on set 5)
Close grip bench (225 set 5)
Preacher curls (90 set 5)

Rear Delt rows
Tricep pushdwons (90 set 5)
Incline curls (40 set 5)

*Both my knees have been sore lately, almost a tendonitis type sore. Going to get those seen to on Friday as well as get some bloodwork done at the docs. Will pin test e 25omg, hcg 250iu tomorrow am.
 
Day 12

Current weight 242lbs. Up from 230 when I started, all water weight no doubt.If and when I add quality muscle I would like to make sure my legs add quality muscle, not just my upper body.

*Injected 250mg test e in right quad. I have pinned my right quad before. This time it is sore like a dead leg, nothing major. I did have a scare, I aspirated too fast after there was no movement on the 1st pull back on the plunger. Luckily, only bubbles. After that my heart started racing, my body temp suddenly rose and I was sweating like crazy, it was dripping off me. I was light headed and it took a couple of minutes to regain normality. It was a weird experience. As I said no major pain at injection site bit the quad it somewhat hard to penetrate, I am using 1.5" 23g though.

Injected HCG in lower abs.

Went to gym and done 20min ab routine. Leg day Friday. Curious to see how appt goes with doc.

Day 13

Doc told me BP was 110/72. Will get the rest of the results next Thursday. Found out I have tendonitis in my left knee.

Legs:
Squats (5th set 255lbs)
Leg Curl (140)
seated calf raise (130)

Leg Press (14 plates)
Stiff leg deadlift (115)
calf press (300)

I have been reading Dloves lifting journal and I am going to incorporate the same outline with warm up sets and then progressing to the much heavier poundages.
 
I was seeing a little bloating prior to starting it, the bloating now is minimal and the HCG and AIFM together seem to be working well. No itchy nips or signs of gyno.Sex drive is throught the roof!
 
Day 14

Knees felt good after leg workout on Friday. Every workout now I am sweating heavily aswell as at night.

Appetite is still same as what I would normal eat.

Weight at 242, not something I'm going to monitor a lot as the cycle goes on cos I judge progress by how I look but I will keep an eye on it.

Training with lots of warm-ups on one compound movement then accesory work around it, really seems to be the ticket. I have to say with all the different programs ive tried threw-out the yrs. this is by far the best. Whether your going for mass or fat loss this style lifting will accomadate it. Hope you give it a whirl bro. So far it's been three for three. Three people have tried it three love it.

Monday June 8, 2009

2 pumps of AIFM

Due to work I had exactly one hour to hit the gym.Had a great workout, poundages were nothing great at all but had a good pump.

Chest and Back:
Flat Bench (5x5) (225 last set)
Incline D/bells 2x10 (55lbs/65lbs)
Incline d/bell flyes 2x10 (30/35lbs)

Deads (5x5) (190 last set)
Pullups 2x10 (bodyweight 242lbs)
Barbell Rows 2x10 (135lbs)

I try to use proper form and carry out the movement with strict form. Again, numbers are nothing amazing but had a good pump and this is very early in the 5x5 routine.

I hope to see some strength increase in the coming weeks. I took progress pics also but I have to find the before pics from my previous operating system.

My 5x5 training split is now:
Mon:Chest/Back
Tue: Abs
Wed:Shoulders/Calves
Thurs: Rest
Fri: Bis/Tri's
Sat: Quads/Hams
Sun: Rest

Is it too much? Should I reduce it to 3 days of lifting? Dlove,Milkman,mikea?

Tuesday June 9th,2009

Abs:
Swiss ball crunch 1x25
Hanging knee raise 2x15
Roman Chair 2x15
Reverse crunch 2x20
Cable side twists 2x15

Cardio:

Fartleks (20mins)
5min jog/from minutes 6-15 15sec sprint and 45 sec jog.mins 16-20 jog and stretch

Increased my cardio a little duie to seeing what seems like a little extra baggage on my lower abs. My top abs are fine. I dont feel like there has been a huge increase in size but a guy I work with commented on me being a lot thicker,we'll see as weeks 3 and 4 roll around.

This is a must read for you if you want to do the 5x5. Personally I dont know how someone can squat three days a week but more power to them. You really need to know where your strength %'s are for the 5x5.

Yes it's 3 days a week to answer your ? Heres a good read you should check when have time. It's complex but he says in there the best thing you can do is dont fuck with it. He means BBers and most have Attention Deficit Disorder and like to customize everything when in this case it's not needed.

Bench 4x5, 1x3, 1x8 First 4 sets are the same as Monday's, the triple is 2.5% above your Monday top set of 5, use the weight from the 3rd set for a final set of 8

Due to work restraints, only got to do the following workout today for bis/tris
Also found out I have to travel out of town this weekend so I will need to hit legs tomorrow instead of Saturday.

Tri's:
Close grip bench 5x5 (last set 225)
weighted dips 2x10(bw + 25lbs)
cable pushdowns 2x10

Biceps:
Barbell curls 5x5 (last set 80)
Incline d/bell curls 2x10
cable curls 2x10

I feel like strength has improved only slightly but physique is slowly starting to take shape.....at least lets hope so and this test starts to fully kick in soon!

Started taking some aromasin. Got a little paranoid about my nips. When I was injecting I drew blood 4 times, got it at the 5th time, annoying as hell but better to be safe.

Once again work took time from my workout:

Legs:
Squats (275 5th set)
Leg Ext

Stiff Leg deads (145 5th set)
Leg curls

Not happy that I had to cut into my leg workout. I am on work travel until Monday. Will look for a place to workout on travel.
