sausage aside...
eggs and EFA's along with cheese will get your fat intake up.
i eat egglands best eggs (lrg eggs)
4grams fat per egg i eat 3-5 whole eggs a day (12-20g fat)
1 oz of almonds ED (16g fat)
2-4tbls of PB ED (16-32g fat)
8 grams of EFA's ED (flax/fish combo)
1-2 oz cheese ED (7-18g fat)
8-10oz chicken ED (7-11g fat)
salad dressing 2-4 tbls ED (roughly 13-26g fat)
this adds up fast...
EFA's are your best bet at fat intake along with eggs IMHO

Gotcha...I figure with almonds, cottage cheese, chicken, and eggs, I can get about a 50/46/4 split of P/F/C...blah...

There's a smart blend formula that we sell at the gym...

How much of each is in each gel cap??

you guys are forgetting the avacodo!

that being said i HATE low carb diets. make me feel like shit, weak as shit, and starving all the time.
for me, going low carb just leads to binging.

I find the exact opposite. By cutting out carbs I don't get the insulin spikes that lead to binging, I have more energy and don't feel like shit. The only thing I'm concerned with is loss of strength but that usually happens when you lose weight anyways so I don't know if I can blame it on lack of carbs.

I hafta admit I haven't been as tired as I thought I would be without carbs...I have my swings, but not bad enough to NOT workout or anything...

...I don't wanna die of clogged arteries...:wiggle: Besides, I only eat chicken, so sausage is out...this is insane...I'm supposed to get 150 g of fat and about 100 g of protein? I get about 70 g of fat and 250 g of protein...blah blah blah!! :sulk:

Try aiming for 40% fat, 40-50% protein, and 10-20% carbs. Time the carbs around your workouts and it's much easier.

The fat isn't that hard to get, just cook everything in olive oil.

Of course the fish oil caps already mentioned helps.

EFA dressing on salads really helps too.

BTW, when I started controlling my carbs, and eating more fats - my energy levels went up and my lipid profile changed to perfection instead of heart attack in waiting. All I had to do was start eating more red meat and cooking with olive oil.

The body will burn the fat for fuel if you teach it to do so and you'll feel great.

Just don't forget a couple of carb up days a week to protect that thyroid.

I'm still just gonna stick to chicken...I was a vegetarian for six years...old habits die hard...I cut out my soy burgers this week (too much sodium)...chicken twice a day...:wiggle:

Good point but think there are other benefits to it as well...MACRO!!!!
I believe it has some liver cleansing abilities plus it works as an antioxident

~*Edit*~ After much thought I have retracted my statement...I don't understand why IA would say to take it after a workout unless you have a bunch of carbs in your PWO shake...

R-ALA or ALA is a glucose disposal agent it memicks insulin and helps shuttle carbs out of the bllodstream and into the muscles for immediate usage. Some people say they can eat carbs and take 200-400mg R-ALA and still stay in Ketosis.
