pb i haven't seen those before. so what is the difference between doing those and doing 480 with just plates on the bar?

chains/bands will load and deload ie accomodate resistance..
its not 480 straight weight..

youll have to ask PB about his set up but when i use chain more than half(chain weight) deloads at the bottom of the lift and then loads towards the top

kyle got shorter arms than me. but when i bench with that set up the chains come off the floor all but one. anyway it gets heavier the further you push. kinda like bands cept different. its more for shirted benchers. ill get some dead clips up tonight of chains and some squats next week using chains.

these work great for building top end strength, speed and stabilizers.

Hey PB, i saw you called the pinkies on the rings medium grip. What are the other grips in referene to the rings and fingers?

wide grip is index fingers on the rings, 81cm apart. thats my normal grip. its the widest allowable grip in a meet. we actually call pinkies on rings close grip but for ology purposes i call it medium as that what it is to most who see it. a lot of guys bench that way anyway. wide grip is unusal for them.

the wider the grip the shorter the stroke.

kyle is a big boy! He got some big ol' legs

great lift

he's a damn stud is what he is. he started training with me when he was 19. his legs were pitiful back then. i always ragged him about riding that chicken all around. his legs are freaking swole now. you cant appreciate it less you see him in person. 960 squat do that to you legs. =0)

I have heard it called a power close grip, which is what I refer to it as. I do those for my tris after regular benching.

960 squat has a nice ring to it....

is he fighting off a cramp at the beginning? I ask because it looks familiar, my hips/glutes were cramping on me the other night.

yup, lower back. we squatted and did some RH the day before. we got another bench session today after last nights dead fiasco.

When you think of the bench press, most likely you picture a guy lying on the bench, big shouldered, deep chested, a huge bar loaded with weights held over his face. All the action seems centered in the upper body, and this makes sense: the kinetic chain from weights down seems to end at the bench right beneath the shoulder blades. But is this true? Bench pressers with great technique know that the hips, lower back and legs play a pivotal role in maximizing your lifts, and in this article, we'll take a close look at how to do exactly just that.silver earrings

Do any of you feel like using chains too much causes you to be weak down in the bottom end of pressing. I mean, you get used to being able to hit heavier weight from half lift and up then when you lift without a chain you can't ever lift the amount that the chain added just straight. I did a month of chains and with the chains I was benching 2 plate on each side sets of 10. The chains at my gym are 30 lbs a peice so total weight up top if chains come off ground is 285. But after a month I couldn't even put 250 on by itself and get ten reps. I would get stuck down bottom. If my spotter helped me just a cunt hair down bottom then I could press it 15 times?
