Creationism VS Evolution

I know people who work out hardcore are not usually into these types of debates (I never used to be), but I'd like to know what kind of people are on this board for the sake of pure curiosity.

Simple, SIMPLE question.

Do you believe that jesus walked on water, eve came from adam's rib, moses parted the sea and god made every living thing in it's exact perfect form without it ever changing through time, OR do you believe in evolution?

First, I'll point out that you made the assumption that creationism is represented solely by Christianity (there are MANY other religions, both mono- and polytheistic that posit creationism), which it isn't and this is a huge intellectual fallacy.

Second, I'm a scientist and my research is based largely on the central tenets of molecular evolution - so yeah, I'm an evolutionist.

Im a God fearing person, but in all honesty Pearl Jam said it best, It's evolution baby...evolution can be explained and proven and thats good enough for me.

I am a creationist Christian, even though I am working my way into the medical field and study biology/pharmacology alot. To me it all supports it.

But alas, I have made 3,000 word posts on this subject on AM a couple years ago, discussing, debating, educating.

Too old for this now lol. Unless something really riles me up that is, then I will lay it down from Abraham to Zachariah.

I think the best way to put it is that I'm humble - I won't begin to assert that I know 'the way it is' and everyone who doesn't agree is wrong. People are entitled to believe what they want, I just lean towards the evolutionary perspective because I like evidence. I could just never accept the whole faith concept - believing in something without proof - but that is just me.

Zero,

Either evolution exists or it doesn't. Studies with fruit flies, cross breeding plants and others give 100% proof that evolution exists (due to such a short life span). If it exists (which it does), that means things change through time. If things change through time (which they do), creationism cannot be true.

Also Zero,

I have a friend and I work with a woman who believe in creationism so don't think I'm attacking you because I'm not.

I believe you can have both. I believe that things can be created, and that things can evolve once created. I have faith. And I believe that there is a God. And I believe that... Fuck, I don't know. I'll figure it out when I die.

well i grew up in a Christian home,I believe in God,and i do believe there is a heaven and a hell,i believe what the Bible teaches, one day our Saviour Jesus Christ will come back to judge his people and thier works, thats me though, what i believe in

I also respect what everybody else believes in as well, and i do not judge my friends who dont believe like i do

Hahaha. Creationism says things are created perfect and do not change.

Ah, I guess I've never heard it defined as that. I've always viewed creationism as the belief that everything was created. I have never viewed it as stating that everything was created perfectly. I studied evolutionary psychology in school and therefore have studied evolutionary biology to a certain extent as well. I know that evolution occurs, it is well documented. That, however, does not mean that my faith is false.

That being said, I'm not here to preach my beliefs.

Well I believe in the after life.......I seen that shit once. Flatlined for 27 seconds.

I agree with Spngy though, I think you can have both creation and evolution.
