My strongman log

tomorrow is back to events. Bought a youth football thigh pad, and am going to tape it to my leg. I forgot how much impact those thigs can absorb. I was punching the pad over my leg and couldn't feel it at all, lol.
 
my leg is still not 100% i am actually iceing it right now.

log, worked up to 215 for a single and missed 225. First time doing it and it was really akward.

775 tire. flipped it 4 times and it was really bothering my leg.
Started using the other leg and they showed me how to do it in one motion, flipped it 5 times than pretty fast all in one motion. last 3 were on a slight decline, but the first 4 were on an incline, lol.

farmers. 260lbs took it 70 ft and lost my grip, couldn't get a good grip back.
chalked up and took it about 80 real fast and with a good grip, felt like i could have gone another 20-30 maybe more no problem.

Yolk, this was humbling. Took 500 lbs 100ft, dropped it once as it was swinging, but it didn't feel heavy. Than took 600 lbs about 40 ft dropped it and my leg was really starting to bother me now, so i called it a day.

All in all felt better, improved on the tire and farmers alot. So i was happy about that.

not really, but i have to start somewhere, lol. It was the medium tire in a 3 tire medley that the guy i train with put on at his show. The heavy one he has has very little grip and is narrower for some reason, i could not get a grip, and my shoulders kept slipping which is not good. It is only like 100 lbs more though. They explained to me that tire weight is not all the problem, shape and grip have alot to do with it.

lol, well it sounds damn big. what kinda tire? trackter? i would like to get my hands on one to train with. i like strong man stylish training. i am workin on a adjustable sandbag (25-150lbs) too train with on the days i pull my tire.
 
Monday did some lockouts with an axl in the rack, a few sets of 5 from the forehead, and a few sets of 5 one pin up. These are brutal, lol.

all below parallel, not easy but my leg was tightening up around the knee, first time squatting in two or three weeks since i smashed up my leg, injury felt OK.

GMs, ssb, pins at naval, paused each one on the way down for a touch

50 lb kettlebell swings 2x12 in each hand.

First solid workout in a long time. Leg is feeling much better, but still not where i want it to be. My posterior is rediculously week. Time to get back to work. I probably have been consuming on average of 2500 cals a day which is way too little, i have not been motivated to eat or train. Time to get my food, and my supps back in gear.

I have some very very sore hams at the moment, so i did some GM's to losen up and went a little heavier than i wanted to.

No events today as the weather was awful and alot of water at Camerons house. Looks as though their is an unsanctioned show on Sep 30 i am going to do to get my beek wet.
 
455 2x5 these were not hard. I need to get my deadlift groove back, just gong to be adding weight every week. I can feel my glutes have gotten week.

Power cleans 135, 155, 175, 195x5 for has gone from atrocious to awful, getting better, lol. Able to sit into these a little better, going to pic up and OLY shoe because MY chucks were not helping, lol.

leg raises in the chair 3x15

Felt good today, Active release guy spent a half hour on me and really had me in good shape afterwards. I am not pushing myself real hard yet on my lower stuff, knee is not 100% yet but close. Don't want another injury.

Sep 30th i am doing an unsanctioned show. It will be a good starter for me, and all the guys i train with will be doing it for fun.
 
Your workouts look fun. I always wanted to do Strongman training, but I'm going to wait till I'm a little older. Do you have a link to those excersizes displayed? I'd like to see what Pendlay rows are. Also what's an SS bar?
 
did upper body today, and since i had an axl at the gym did that.

axl clean and press, no tires, used weights since i was at the gym.

175, 195, 215, 235, 250 all for singles. last one was easily pressed, clean was ugly. Definately getting a better jerk. Very happy here.

close grips 225, 275, 315, 325 all for 5

rear delts 15, 12, 12

ab pulldowns 3x10

alternate dumbell curls 40's 2x15

GHR 8,7 allmost fell of the machine on the second set on 8

wide grip cables rows 3x12


Have a serious cold right now, i was really happy with today, felt like shit going in, felt good training and feel like shit now. It is raining bad here, two weeks now with really shitty weather and no event training.

Just getting over a sinus infection, it was tough to breath during this workout. Glad i got it in though.
