If your gonna cut, i would drop the gear all together. My friend was just like you and the same size. He cut down to 225 and he looks much better now than at 285.
 
Just got back from the gym. Upper body strength:

Bench 135 x10 185 x5 225 x5 275 x5 295 x5 315 x10 (should have asked for a spot I could have gotten another one)
Standing T-bar row- 2 plates x8 3 plates x8 4 plates x8 6 plates x8 7 plates x8 (this was a weird machine which allows you to stack weight on the front and behind you so I ended with 4 plates in front and 3 behind)
Smith machine military 1 plate x8 2 plates x8 275 x8
BB shrugs 225 x6 315 x6 405 x14
superset w/ BB forearm work

I know what I look like at 225. I want to be much bigger. Here's me at 230.

Not in a long time. I think my best is 405 x2 and that was a couple weeks after my first cycle.

When I drop below a certain weight it becomes mechanically impossible at my height to move much poundage. I really like being big and strong so I figure I'll just work on staying lean in the range I'm at now. It will be a lot of work but that's what the iron game is all about, the journey.

Its called diet rage. Been dieting for the last three months too get rid off some ugly ass fat. Three more months to go, target is a TRUE 5 percent bodyfat, not like so many other guys who think they are at 5 percent when in reality they are 10 to 12. I aint touching nothing till I get my ass down to 5%, alright maybe 6.

Am I mistaken or were you deadlifting 405 on cycle?

I deadlift 400 clean, I lost some strength since I am eating 1/4 of what I normally do but still pushing myself as much as I can. Dieting can kick your ass when you are at the gym.

Yes dieting can be a bitch. That's why I'm taking it slow. You don't get to talk shit to me until you can come near my natty deadlift numbers.
