Question about TRT injection times and if it affects sleep

Think we're finally at the end of the road and endo is going to prescribe a trt injection protocol for me, they're supposed to be calling tomorrow with the recent test results/mri I had done last fri and Monday and said that'd be about it...thank god, i'm about out of blood to give for labs and getting infusions to test body parts.

My question, I work third shift so I hit the sack about 8am. I'm going to be doing twice weekly injections when I get going, do these shots jack you up? I see a Tuesday evening and Saturday morning schedule most talk about, Tuesday evening wont be a big deal since I'll be working all night, but what about the Saturday morning shot, will that prevent me from getting to sleep by amping me up or anything? I know it affects everybody differently as any drug does, but kind of wanted a general concesus in case I need to modify schedule.

No, they do not at all. Although some guys experience a psychosomatic "rush" with their first couple of injections.

I've been injecting every Tuesday evening and Saturday morning for the last 7+ months. And occasionally my Tuesday injection has been pushed back to right before bedtime. I've never had any problems falling asleep. Although the night after my very first injection, I had really weird dreams.

Fantastic...always been borderline insomnia anyhow my whole life so was worried these shots might make a bad problem even worse. Third shift makes sleep problem even worse obviously since your backwards to everything. Who knows, maybe getting levels right may help. Crazy dreams? You have no idea how I would love to dream, I sleep in 2hr bursts, lay staring at the ceiling for 1-2hrs and get another 1-2hrs sleep, lay there for an hour and get pissed so get up and start the day, then I'll usually pwr nap for an hour before heading to work. Been like that for yrs, think the longest I've ever slept without waking was 5hr a few times. Had trouble doing CPAP testing just because of the lack of sleeping ability...gal was getting frustrated and I just laughed and said those past few hours are about all your going to get. Never said I was severe or anything, nothing real conclusive, but they gave got me a APAP machine, cant tell any difference using it vs not.

Last week had doc give me script for ambien, it helps get to sleep, but doesn't keep me asleep. Started with half pill, then full, then 2 pills and same thing, 2hrs wide awake, so stopped taking them because I read they can become addictive.

Get a sleep study done and fix your sleeping problems. If I remember right, you make a lot of your natty testosterone during REM sleep. At the very least, while you are sleeping. That very well could be the cause of your Low T.

What's different between a sleep study and what they do to test for apnea? Been there done that with the apnea test.

sleep apnea is a killer....don't overlook it and use your machine every night is my advice to you.

I'm just going to revive this as a update. Been doing my TRT regimon of 100mg/wk given every Wed. for awhile now, sleep has gone the opposite as what the doctor and I both thought....like I mentioned, I work 3rd shift so sleep is jacked up already since your body hates shift work....luckily I've been getting better sleep. I'm actually waking up maybe once during the mid morning/early afternoon, glance at the clock and fall right back to sleep vs before TRT sleeping 2 hours and being wide awake, lay around for awhile maybe sleep another 1-2hrs before getting up.

So it has had a good effect on my sleep, and that makes me happy.

I have to chime in on this too. I do have anxiety, I admit that. Like megatron mentioned about psychosomatic rush, I will have to say I'm part of that crowd. I decided to get back on trt due to my low test crash and the horrible depression and spaced out feeling that wouldn't leave no matter what due to stopping trt cold turkey.

After my low dose injection of 25mg enanthate I was calm but I started thinking of negative things and went for like a 30 minute walk to calm down. The next morning brain fog was clearing up but I'm not out of the woods yet. I would be the guy to wake up every hour too, even every 30 minutes. Now I am sleeping until 3, then falling right back asleep. I feel better in the morning but I still get really bad bursts of anxiety. Before they would peak a little high but they would stay that way for hours. now they peak really high then calm down within the hour. sucks ass but I need to stick to a protocol.

You need to sort this out with a GP bro.
Careful what kind of meds he may advise. Opt for something you will be able to ween off from. Paxil is b.s.
Weight gain and hard to cone off of.
