I hear over and over guys can't make a meal here and miss a meal there. For some guys like me missing a meal on my skinny ass is a NEVER. Here is what you do to make sure you get the most of your ON Cycle and OFF Cycle: never miss a meal!! Just carry these, it will become habit very quickly.

Protein powder

Energy bars

Fruits

Trail mix

Granola bars

Protein bars

Water and shaker.

I pack my car, truck, moped and skateboard with all of the above (my GF's purse too). There is never a reason to miss a meal, just plan it.
 
Now by miss a meal do you mean by an hour, or totally miss it? I work in the restaurant business and sometimes I literally can not eat exactly when I need or should. Rush time is a bitch bc it can be either an hour or 3 hrs, and I can not leave that station. I do carry a muscle milk and granola if I feel I wont be able to eat until after the rush, but even then I cant eat it in one sitting, I have to keep coming back to it which sucks.
 
Muscle milk is bad as cancer! That shit had maltodextrin from and some othe harmful chemicals that kill brain cells. I always take WHOLE foods everywhere. I stuff my pockets with chicken, tuna, you name it! I try to avoid protein shakes as well.

As long as you have somewhat of an idea what your day will look like you can plan ahead... you can even plan ahead for the unknown. I carry a gym bag everywhere with me and the lady thinks i am smuggling a kilo of blow in there but I've got gym prep, food, shower gear, supplements etc. My office drawers have protein bars, canned tuna w/ balsamic vinaigrette to flavor, 5 lbs protein bag and a shaker w/ water available and granola bars. I still pack lunch every day but if something weird happens I am good. When I am working out heavy (gear or no gear) i honestly get hungry every 2 hrs at least... sometimes more. You don't want to let it get to the point of hungry. This pic was taken 5 seconds ago:

Haha my car is jam packed with goodies. One in the glove compartment, a few snacks in the center console, and snacks in the door. As well as a bag of food in the back seat. I always have at least a protein bar in my pocket at all times. I eat while working I don't care what anyone says, because they know if I don't eat I will be a bitch to be around. I bring a granola bar to the gym and eat midway in a workout so that I don't have to go home and leave gym early.

If I ever have to be in the situation where I can not eat for over 3 hours, I eat something like potatoes or rice before hand, to help keep blood sugar levels steady.

I'm lucky enough to have my own office at work. I put a small refrigerator in there and stock it every Monday. I still prep food every night for the next day, but the fridge at work always stays stocked with more goodies.

Muscle milk is total garbage you're better off just drinking good vitamin D chocolate milk it has more protein and vitamins and minerals....there was a huge article a few years back on the front page of USA today about how bad muscle milk is for you....you might want to do some research....just sayin
 
I like to keep backup food as listed above in every vehicle and as well in my gf purse, cause god knows i can fit a refrigerator in her big ass purse. Never an excuse to miss a meal

Thank you for the supporting statements! I actually watched a 60 minutes episode about how since the FDA doesnt regulate shit in the supplement industry, toxic metals and compounds are often found in these supplements. That's why I try to limit my supplement buying and focus more on whole foods and gear :)
