Is it propaganda? Can it be a narrow-minded ideology or -ism? It certainly can be.
I hate propaganda and I am suspicious of -isms.
But whether you're a faithful Christian or a lay Buddhist who doesn't even believe in God and is seeking Enlightenment, prayer (or meditation) can help a person develop a certain mindfulness about his/her existence and his/her collaboration with others in their goals.
We encounter too much BS, garbage, obstuction, distraction, deception and ignorance day-to-day. If prayer/meditation helps you to clear your mind, be a better person, become a better person, give you empwering directionality, help you fulfill yourself... great for you.
I am not commanding anyone to pray. I am just saying, if one is moved to pray, there is more than just praying for forgiveness.
And, by the way, when my fiancee asks are we going to church on Sunday. I'll ask her which one... the church-church or the other church (the gym). I'm still trying to get her to watch "Pumping Iron" and hear Arnold talk about church. LOL
