Thanks Cash, I'm going to copy that.. I'm about 210 lbm.. Lookin to lose 60lbs of bf.. Do you always stop eating at 5:30, or just for your diet phase?

hey cash, how do you recommend someone to eat that works from 3 pm until 12 am, and gets up every morning at 7 am with his kids?

thanks for any info or advice,

i'd bet on it that cash has the answer to that question, but i'm also inclined to think that he'd tell you to contact 3j and be able to have an entire diet specifically tailored to those needs. Just a thought.....

Wow! That is a crazy schedule. I've not had to try to work around anything like that so I don't have any direct experience with modifying the timing of what I do from a diet perspective.

I guess I'd need to know what time you actually go to bed and get up? Have to start there.

Started a Diet Phase this morning so here is what today will be...

This is copied directly from my Excel Spreadsheet so I hope it copies well.

Your story is great Cashout! bad ASS

About your current diet.... I see your last meal is a whey shake at 5:30. What about all this stuff about going catabolic at night and losing muscle... do you think that's BS?

Do you eat any veggies?

I've done a couple of personal studies on my own metabolic patterns and I've found that by 6 pm my VO2 uptake, BP, heart rate, and associated metabolic markers drop to about 65%-70% max by 7 pm so personally, I'm not a big fan of pushing additional calories into the systems as the functions are dialing down.

I can't say that everyone follows the same pattern. Perhaps it is a function the years of training and diet. But, when I do enter a diet phase, I find it works well for me.

No veggies here other than baby carrots sometimes. Green veggies like broccoli and the like really give me a bloated feeling and gas.

I second that question. Most things that I read says that you need a slow digesting protein at night to prevent must catabolism.
I take a casein protein before bed.

What forms of cardio do you do during your diet phase, and at what kind of pace (max heart rate % I guess). I have a love hate relationship with the stairmaster, I hate doing it while I'm doing it, but its the toughest for me and I feel like I actually got a workout when finished. I mean ,I might technically burn more calories on the elliptical per minute, but every step on the stairmaster I'm toning(sp?) my quads, hams, glutes, calves, lower back. I'm just unsure if this might hinder my gains in the lower body department. Since your the bodybuilding expert on this forum, enlighten me on what has worked best for you in the past :blue: Thanks cash

I'm really sold on the ArcTrainer by Cybex. I've got one here at my gym at the home - its an A610. It is an elliptical machine and I prefer it because it is non-impact. I am a big believe in preserving the joints by doing non-impact.

I do it for 20 minutes a session, 4 times per week at a pace of 130-140 heart beats per minute. A pace at which I can easily breath through my nose without any huffing and puffing.

Pretty simple.
