What was your biggest lagging muscle and how did you bring it up?

For me..It's my biceps. I am 6'' tall and my arms are long. My biceps are short and they stop well before my elbow joint. They don't have a great peak to them and I have yet to find the proper way to train them to make them grow the way I want. I often get pain when I curl because all of the tension is on the tendon that sits between the end of my bicep and my elbow joint. I feel if my bicep was longer and there was muscle there, it would be more responsive to such workouts.

What is your biggest lagging body part? What did you do that finally worked at bringing it up?

Let's hear your struggles :)

I'm about your height and I had similar issues. Honestly, I quit training them. It worked. I've gained an inch this year. I assume it might be from overtraining. I started doing pull ups/chins with various grips a couple times a week. I hit back with various grips on rows too. Might do a real light high rep set or two of curls here and there.

no doubt about it my COCK...test, proviron Cialis. lololol

As a soccer player through 11 th grade it was everything above the waiste....my leg s were shredded, shoulder s wide, back not bad but...everything else....looked like FIGHT CLUB EXTRA.

Enter Powerlifting USA Magazine, Muscle and Fitness and 10 pack s of test, shrink wrapped for 4 dollars and 55 cents a bottle..1985....sigh..." glory day s...."""

6'7" so arms still feel small to me even though every goddamn kid wants to do curls next to me to compare. I train them twice a week, but have cut volume down a bit - doing a total of 5 exercises on arm day.

Including triceps?

It's my frikin forearms. My arms will grow but my forearms will never catch up no matter what I will do. It sounds retarded that they are shredded but I just can't fill out the bellies no matter what I do...fkn genes . Any suggestions?

my arms. they look big when im sitting down, but when i stand up they look small due to my large ribcage and chest. so i hit bis and tris twice a week. and delts :)

Taken directly from Rip's thread...

"Forearms

I'm going to keep this section brief since there are way to many small separate muscles in the forearms that it would require an article of its own (which I have no motivation to write).
Movements involving elbow extension & flexion will cover most of the forearm muscles, with some finger exercises & ulnar deviation being more advanced techniques. You also need to ensure your doing an equal amount of wrist flexion & extension in order to avoid problems in the future.

The forearms are VERY slow twitch dominant due to their constant use in daily life so 15+ reps is necessary.
Due to the limited range of motion, you also need to maximise the time under tension for forearms by having a very slow tempo throughout the range of motion of the movement.

Highly recommend anyone with lagging parts have a look at this thread.. he goes through optimal training for growth for each body part.

Biceps for me. I recently read that pull ups really help them grow and am going to test that theory.

I have no problem increasing the size of the purple helmeted warrior of love...I started by attaching a 5 pound weight to it and doing the male kegel exercises and now have worked up to a full plate. It is now 15 inches long...only 1/4 inch wide...but a full 15 inches long!!! :p

Just coil it up and THROW that shit in her! :D

Zilla gives spot on advice regarding forearm development imo. I "flip" a 45lb plate for 35 reps and then do a static hold for 15-20 seconds. That's one set, and I do four. Works great for me. :)

That sounds like a torture method :S I've never felt the need to train forearms lol... maybe I should get on it.

HW, what do you mean you flip a 45 lb plate?

If you do good heavy deadlifts and shrugs, you may not need to. I just like doing them as my forearms need more stimulation. :)

I found my forearms get a good workout from doing machine based narrow grip rows. Now sure why, but they are pumped and sore after...all vascular and manly looking.
