Ask Anything You Want about TRT Thread........

What exactly happens, and what should someone do with extremely low SHBG on TRT? 6 (11-80)

Heard many mixed things on this topic, from keeping estrogen low to injecting more frequently (more frequent injections did not change the number). Currently doing 100mg/5 days

are you taking anastrozole? sometimes clomiphene will bring it up be creating some more E. or a progesterone cream.

this is a tough one, and almost no docs understand the importance of it or how to fix it.

it could be a liver problem too, what is your IGF-1?

I do not know my IGF-1 (never had a reason to ask for the test).

Yes I take anastrozole as well.

Several questions first off I am NOT on trt.

1 . Does Hashimoto's disease (low thyroid) effect other hormones? Can you go on TRT if you have this??
2. What causes testo free to drop when testosterone ultrasesitive stays about the same (free 94.3-ultra-417) (free 59.1-ultra 377)
3. How does celiacs effect hormones. I have been gluten free for 2 years.
4. I went gluten free 2 years ago since then I need LESS thyroid meds and I now have better more stable tsh numbers. do you have any guess why?? I the only reason we could come up with is the old thyroid meds may have had gluten as a binder??

If taking Nolvadex and my LH and FSH levels are high yet TT remains low. Would this always indicate primary hypogonadism or could there be other possible culprits for my low T?

Thank you

Hi,
38, 6'2" 230lbs w/ prob 25% body fat. Been on TRT for a couple years (was on Androgel for a year then went Test Cyp for the last year 200mg/1Ml every 2 weeks). My initial T was 178, and while on Andro was 380 and have not been tested since. I still have low energy although I hit the gym 4-5x week and can't stay rock hard in the sack for long lol. Would it be safe to go to 200mg every week essentially doubling my dosage? I am currently not taking any AI's or anything and have had no symptoms of high E2. Thank you!

It sounds like your ED is a symptom of high E2.

Start injecting 100mg every week or better yet, 50mg every 3.5 days. Don't double your dose as you proposed. That is a sure way to get kicked off TRT by your doc. Get your TRT protocol dialed in.

Hi all, new to the site but have been reading the last few days about TRT. I got labs done and my T came back at 178. Since then I've tried a natural approach with vitamins; 2800mg damiana leaf, 50mg DHEA, multivitamins ect. I've been on this for 6 weeks and retested at 202. I'm not happy with the results. My Dr has called in androgel for me to start but after reading I would almost rather go with injections (since that's what I read everyone switching to anyways). My Dr is a family practice Dr and not a TRT specialist. That being said with androgel will
I need to supplement with AI like I would with injections? I'm worried I won't get the best information from her if I would do injection based TRT.

Age 31, 6'1", 255lb. Struggles with weight loss, low energy, low stamina
Still trying to have children as well so maybe HCG?

Thanks for any insight.

Some guys need and AI on TRT and some don't. Not everyone aromatizes as much as the next guy. You generally start TRT and then get blood work to see where your estradiol is at.

Can you post your blood work results? Being 31, you may want to try and avoid hopping on TRT for the rest of your life. Taking vitamins isn't going to do hardly anything. But depending on what type of hypogonadism you have, an HPTA restart may be possible. And if it doesn't work, TRT will still be there for you.

Androgel is inferior to injections and costlier. Did your doc check your LH, FSH ?
How does he prescribe Androgel off the bat like that?
You might be able to elevate T with HCG

I will get a copy of them Monday, I don't remember them off the top of my head. Thanks for the quick replies!

Alright so im 19 and I had 2 blood test taken to determine I had low T. First blood draw was like 33ng/dl and the second was 153ng/dl. My primary referred me to an endo and he has started me on 100mg of test cyp every two weeks. Ive only had 2 shots so far and i still feel like complete shit and am miserable and want relief. To my knowledge this dose is very small and not optimal how do i talk to my doctor to maybe have him increase the dose. I do home injections so i could self pin more but then my blood work would be fine and he wouldnt prescribe me more. Please any advice on how to talk to him?
