How many of you do cardio while strength training?

Dlove

Product of Test
Im gonna assume the answer is no-one, just curious though. Cardio seems to put strain and some pounding on my knees which I feel interfers with Squats and Deadlifts, therefore sacrificing strength and in return sacrificing muscle. Im currently trying to increase strength on Squats especially, but would like to see my Bench go up as well. My deadlifts are pretty strong Im gonna continue to do them but dont really mind if they go up to much for my legs need to catch up to my upper body. I work out 3-4 days a week low volume high intensity, heavy. I have been doing little cardio at the end of my workouts like 20 minutes on the bike but I feel it's pointless. Thoughts?

Go with cardio that is as low impact as possible. Elliptical and Stationary Bike should keep all knee pounding issues to a minimum. You're also an exceptionally large dude, 280+ if I'm not mistaken. You said you were going to be putting some pics up soon if I remember correctly, some mandatories and some pics of your girl would be much appreciated lol.

Lol, sup milk? Yeah about 283 somedays little more little less. Im having a tough time getting anywhere near 290, i dont think it's meant to be. I dont mind the bike or the ellipticals. So low pace as possible on off days or at the end of heavy days? I put some pics up end of cycle, im real dissapointed right now need help, lol. The girl I gotta think about dat one i should have something around.

Swimming is also a great low impact cardio and quite a workout as well. Milk is right...you need to change your types of cardio.

Lol. You are Damn right Miss Muscle. Swimming will also shed fat like a SOB. I love a little swim. I cant wait until labor day when the pool opens. I also live next to the largest man made lake on the east coast and love swimming around in there. I quess it's just the treadmill and the high seat bikes that strain my knees. I preach swimming to anyone looking for fat loss. I just dont want to hinder any strength. Goal now and for the next 14 weeks is to gain as much strength as possible. It would had been easy had my gym not gone from a nice powerlifting gym to relocating and turning into Global gym and an Elderly persons hang out.

Whats up D! I do loads of cardio, moderate and high intensity, sometimes twice aday, all while trying to increase or maintain my strength. It can be done if organized correctly and diet and supps are on point. :) In my opinion cardio is a must for everyone.. if for nothing more then just general good heart health.

The girl won't mind and you owe me for all that Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) help lol.

If you can, try hitting the cardio as soon as you get up. Go with low impact for 20-30 minutes a day. It gets my appetite raging and I lean out very nicely.

I'm switching my gym when I graduate from college and head back to re-locate close to where I grew up. My current Gold's has gone from a pretty decent "health club" with DB's up to 120's, a shit load of plates, a couple power racks, etc... into a fucking pussy palace equipped with leather sofas and a waterfall. There are mostly chicks and some pussy dudes, hence pussy palace. I'm going to be paying less for the gym membership and there are 150lb DB's and every powerlifting apparatus you can think of. It's a former Powerhouse... I'm excited.

Not much Jay ready for friday night chinese and sushi, was sup with you.
I will say this now thinking and talking about it. This past week I hit cardio pretty hard and my appetite was threw the roof so that was a benefit. I do need to consider the heart health aspect of it too. I already take a BP pill so I should be doing cardio. Im thinking 20 minutes on my 3 training days at the end and 40 mins 2x week. Im just gonna try Milks advice too go low impact as possible. Im thinking if it helps me eat more that will help not lose strength, muscles will be filled, kinda a two fold deal here it seems like.
