5-30-06 Calves/Cardio

Decided to give my lower back and knees a rest and lay off quads this week. I think the cardio is aggrivating them, i'll be back to lifting heavy soon.

Seated Calf Raises on Leg Press
450 x 20

DC Calves 1 x 12

45 minutes on treadmill, 12.0 incline, 3.4mph.
 
oh and to think what will people's expression when someone is doing tire lifts in the park or sled pulls......damn I want a big tire!!!
 
5-31-06 Chest/Delts/Tris

Decided to change it up and try some rack presses today. I realized I wasn't sure I remembered how to do them..lol. I couldn't remember if you started with the weight on the rack or on the bar rests and then brought it down...well, I decided to start out at the bottom of the lift, is this right? I felt it big time!!

Rack Presses - About 1-2 inches off my chest (let the bar come to a rest at the bottom of each rep)

Fly machine (SS)
40 x 12
50 x 12

DB Shoulder Presses
70 x 10
70 x 8

Side Lateral Raises

Front Raises (thumbs up)

Rear Lateral Raises

Rope Pressdowns

10 minutes of cardio followed by abs and rotator cuff work.
 
nice lifting JT..and were you start the rack press is up to you as a lifter. i started in the same place as you. but it depends on were your weak at in your lift, were you wanna start.

Cool, cool, that's what I thought. It absolutely shredded my chest, though. How far off your chest do you set the rack, 4, 6 inches? Or should it vary week by week, kind of like board presses?
 
i'd treat it like board presses. i did mine from the mid point up. i think next time i do it i will lower it down closer.
 
Good chest work. I'll be starting it a few inches off my chest as well because I have the most trouble pushing upwards.
