New Beginnings: Power Lifting

August 16th-17th

Started a new job... Trying to put in some decent hours to get ahead of the curve with training, etc...

Didn't train Monday because it was my first day and I was kinda tired after work. Didn't train Tuesday because I don't train Tuesday and I put in a very very long day.

Feel like I pulled something in my rib cage/sternum area. Hopefully that will feel better tomorrow. Bicep feels almost 100%.

August 18th-21st

Been having some major issues with my chest area. I think I have a musculoskeletal pull/strain or what they call Costochondritis. I'm going to give it a couple more days as it feels about 70% better. If it doesn't feel good enough to train on Monday with, I will be going to the doctor shortly after that.

good to take it easy for a while. With the new job & intense training I am sure u r under a lot of mental & physical pressure. Best to let it heal and work on your legs. That's my MO for the moment - strained my rotator cuff so it's legs, abs, back and more legs.... LOL BTW - evr try half squats? did those tonite after regular squats - wicked burn - almost a cramp....hehehehehe

Sometimes when I lift heavy I get intercostal muscle spasms between ribs and when it is high enough it feels like chest pain. It freaked me out the first time it happened I thought I was having a heart attack >_<

What type of strongman stuff are you doing? Those are great exercises and a nice change from the gym.

Im sure youll make it to 2011 natural! Just dont ever give up caffeine!!

Getting back at it tomorrow. Chest and left bicep feel healed up. Excited to train again.

Damn man - you heal like one of those aliens on Star Trek! LOL - That's great you are feeling better, take you time an get back into it slowly so you can test out the healed muscles.:blue:

It ended up being Costochondritis. Check out the condition on Google. It's pretty crazy.

I do farmer's walks and a couple other things, nothing crazy. More GPP work then anything else.

I'm definitely going to make it to 2011 natty; I have plenty to improve on before I see it necessary to get back on anything.

Thanks man. It wasn't anything too bad I was dealing with but enough to sideline me for a bit.

August 30th

Squats 305/3, 325/3, 345/3
DB Stiff Leg DL's 50's/12, 60's/12, 70's/10
Wide Stance Good Mornings 145/8 x 2
Standing Calf Raises 200/20 x 2, 200/16

*Felt really good to get back in the gym. Super sore today.

Next Cycle

I'm not going to post this in the open forum because frankly I don't care what some of the idiots on this board are going to say. I want to ask select people (and anyone who reads this thread are the crowd I'm looking for) about my next cycle thoughts...

I was thinking either:

Test E 375mg/wk
Deca 600mg/wk
Winny 50-75mg/day (last 6 weeks)

or

Test P 125mg EOD
Tren A 125mg EOD
Winny 50-75mg/day (last 6 weeks)

Don't really want to run a heavy Test cycle again, so I'm going to back off it a little bit. I don't know my goals quite yet, hence why such different cycles. Would just like to see what people are thinking. Also, I am planning on sharing this it everyone when I make a decision just to show people that experience users don't need to run huge amounts of gear to make gains.

Great that you are back in after your injury. Feels good to be sore don't it?

Seems like Cycle 1 is short on test if you are going for 600mg a week of deca. Wont u be worried about deca dick or gyno? U going to run adex or exemestane w/ that?

Cycle 2 looks pretty sweet and you'd end up with only lean gains.

September 1st

Bench Press 275/3, 295/3, 295/2
Incline DB Press 65's/12, 80's/12
Seated DB Press 55's/12, 70's/12
Rope Extensions 60/8 x 2, 40/12 x 2

*Felt good benching again but the weight wasn't feeling as light as I would have liked. I would attribute it to the 3 weeks nursing injuries.

Would run Aromasin at 25mg EOD on either if any estrogenic issues came up.

I wouldn't be all that worried about Deca Dick simply because I am going to be running a large enough dose (way above maintenance) to combat any real libido issue. Not to mention I have had no problems with libido and 19-nor's in the past.

As far as gyno, I know I won't get any at either one of those Test doses (Cycle 1 and 2 are slightly different) and I will have Prami on hand just in case.

I like your thoughts on the second cycle option though... I'm sure I would look nice and lean afterward.

Accessory Back work

Pull Up bw/5 x 3
One Arm DB Rows 100/10, 100/12, 100/20
Underhand Lat Pull Downs 150/12, 170/8 x 2
Barbell Shrugs 225/15 x 3
Fat Bar Curls bar(75lbs)/12 x 2

*Most volume I've done in quite some time. Posterior chain was too shot to deadlift so I decided just worked on some other stuff.

Amen to that. I don't go over 500mg wk on test just because it causes me to need too much AI's. True, don't need huge doses if you got everything else the way it should be.

never heard of it. Sound like fancy medical jargon that says quit being a pussy. lol Nah seriously I hope that shit goes away or you can train around it.

I've gone as high as 800mg/wk without much trouble but 500mg and another compound should more then suffice this time around.

Great info about the costochondritus. I googled it and I had that shit when I was in jr high and about 2 times as a young buck but never knew the name of it. Drs always said not to worry about it but never told me the name.
It never lasted long and totally went away after about age 30.

Nice workout. Those bw pull ups get hard as he'll as the bw goes up....;-). U have a fat bar at the gym or do u use towel wrap?
