I use 29 gauge slin pins for every injection. I've been doing it this way since 2008. Once a month I sit down and preload a month's worth of pins while I'm watching tv. It takes a few minutes for each one, but it's no big deal. The injections take maybe 30 seconds.
I rotate injection sites with glutes, quads, delts, and occasionally the belly button area. Quads and delts are IM, and the glutes / belly area are subq. The only downsides with subq oil injections are the lower injection volumes and a higher risk of bruising.
The steroid boards had lots of misinformation when I was learning about this 6 years ago. Everyone liked to parrot the same misinformation they read somewhere else. "Oil won't flow through a slin pin". "Subq test injections don't work". "You can't preload pins; the oil will melt the rubber and you'll die". Lol. All bullshit.
