Winterlong's Log

PR fest again. :) My legs are still very pumped. Time to down a shake and shower.

are you supplementing something to give you those pumps? i don't really get that good of pumps natty. also don't retain alot of water natty.

why do you?

Well, the CEE I'm using has some NO in it, that I just noticed recently. Supposidly, it has 5x the amount of NO in other supps, but whatever. I'm thinking about changing supps because of the "high dosage" of NO

I think I retain a lot of water because of all the salts and shit I'm eating. I don't look after all the sodium I'm intaking, but just carbs and fat really.

the no would do it. winter too much salt is bad for you.

Yeah, I don't enjoy pumps too much because they distract me while I'm working out. Also, I should watch how much salt I'm eating. How much should I eat everyday if I'm cutting?

well i am no expert when it comes to exactly how much salt we need, but i can tell you that you don't need to add it to food, on the table or while cooking, stay away from processed foods which have added salt, fast food, pork, soda or other drinks that aren't water. junk like chips, cookies, breakfast cereal like capt crunch etc. Salt isn't even a concern for me because i am eating clean and don't add it to anything. i may get some from protein drinks, but i can't see how it would be a concern if the diet is right for cutting down.

so where is the salt coming from in your diet? what are you eating?

i am thinking if you are getting too much salt, the diet can't be that good, especially for a cutting diet.

Here's a breakdown of what my diet looks like on a usual day:

Morning
Protein shake - 2scoops w. water
1/2 - 1cup oats plain

Midmeal: 10~
1slice grain bread
few slices of assorted meats

Lunch: 11:45~
1/2 - 1full sandwhich **depends if its workout day or not
Lots of sliced meat

3:00~
Protein shake - 2scoops w. water

3:45-4~
2chicken breasts or steak if I have any laying around
A.1 Sauce

6:30~
1cup veggies
Fish or other assortment of meats
1cup rice

9:30~
Protein Shake - 2scoops w. water

That's about it. I might add a few other things in there as the day goes on such as a bowl of oats and a fruit blend drink before workingout, but this is the basic outline.

lunch meats can be salty, a1, chicken or steak if it is added. i really don't se where the salt and crap is in here. now the deli meat has salt in it, a1, but still i don't see the usual crap, chips, cookies, .

you one to drink crap like sodas, gatorade, energy drink etc??

Nope, I'm eating very clean, IMO. Yeah, the only things that I believe that are carrying the most salt are the meats and the A1, but I can't live without that stuff :)

I might just have to up my cardio some more because I am only doing about 2-3x a week for 20min or so if I'm not lazy. :druggie:

lunchmeat is PACKED with sodium
also most fish has a subsantial amount of sodium too...canned tuna and shrimp are pretty high as a matter of fact.
and certain spices have sodium content too. A1, but if used moderatley should negatively impact sodium too much..

my guess as too most of the sodium intake is the lunch meat. most have upwards of 24% per serving (2oz) of your daily needs based on a 2000cal diet.

i would hold water with that much lunch meat, but i am pretty sensitive to salt and it makes me hold water bad. is this enough salt to give winter the water he said he is holding.

. can you live with chicken breasts?

i dunno i was being pretty leaniet with thte sodium % i know the lunch meat we have at the house right now is like 35% per 2oz and IF, IF, i eat a sandwhich with it i ussually slap 4oz on some bread so thats 70% of the sodium i need in a day plus condoments...mayo and mustard (which is nothing but sodium)..you can easily take in 90+% sodium of a 2000cal diet. so yea i would speculate his lunch meat intake alone is enough to cause the water bloat..esp if he is like you in regards to sodium sensitivity.
