Androseries- What do you have planned?

Should I take this as a hint that you think I am too small? You bastard! LOL

Actually, I'm currently in post cycle therapy (pct), Grip. Once the body rests for a while, I will get back to PHs again. In the meantime, I will have to watch the logs, but thanks for asking :-)

Lol. Right on bro. You know I actually dont know your stats, so I couldnt say if your small or not. My brother who is 5'8 and competes at 150 is smaller than me, but I dont consider him small.

I'm about 5'6", 190 right now. I appear to have some muscle at that weight, but I'm by no means cut, or fat either.

That's pretty big, imo, 5'6" at over 170 is decent size (unless very lean, then lower).

I last competed ('91), I was in the lightweight class at 154. My avi is what I looked like then. I could probably do that again, but I was too stringy looking for my liking. When I get down that low, I just look skinny in clothes. The pros at my height (think Shawn Ray) are about 200 ripped.

The older I get it is more about what weight for me I feel the overall healthiest at.

True. Good point. I've been too heavy before, where I huffed and puffed just walking from the car to the gym door. That wasn't comfortable at all. I always feel healthier with a little padding on me, I seem to get sick less than when I used to maintain a lower bodyfat (i.e., 10% or below).

I snowboard in the winter and am able to keep up with guys that are 10, 20, even kids 30 years younger than me, so having some cardiovascular capacity is important to me, even though I don't do cardio at the gym.

Shawn Ray was so awesome looking and to the newbie looked 300lbs. What would be your ultimate goal: weight, bodyfat?

Since I am not in the competitive mindset at this time, my goals are different than they once were. I would have looked pretty good competing ripped as a middleweight, which is 176 lbs. So translating that into an offseason weight that is maintainable, I suppose 200 lbs @10% bodyfat would look pretty decent and would provide me with the muscular size I want. I hold a little more fat than that these days, so not changing BF% would probably put me at 215-220lbs.

Is it more relaxing now that you don't compete? I know you probably enjoyed competing, but does taking the competition out of it make it more relaxing of a hobby?

I always loved competing, but it definitely rules your life. How frequently you have to eat, have to supplement, have to train, have to tan, have to practice routines... It is very time consuming...life consuming.

Because of the "me" focus, it is very self-absorbing by nature and without trying, you become very selfish, knowing that you have to meet all of the needs I mentioned above. I am always amazed that relationships work during contest preparation. I could not have devoted any time to a relationship when I was competing.

Now, I don't stress about meals or supps. I eat pretty well, but I don't have to worry about 6 or 7 meals a day. 4 meals a day does the job just fine.

I am more relaxed, but that is in part because I am older and have a better perspective on the importance of things. Priorities are different now. I love the gym, I love training, and I loved competing, but those things have to find the proper place in one's life.

One thing that I do miss about competing, is that there is no urgency about reaching certain goals in size or conditioning. The contest "forced" me into a specific timeline of accomplishment. Sure, I can set those goals now, but it's not the same (for me, at least).

You'd be pretty yoked at 210 Burly.

Yeah as far as competing, no thank you. I wouldnt mind getting in really good shape, but not contest condition. Ive watched my brother diet for a show several times and know that its not for me. Props to you though for at least competing, so many dream of doin it but dont. Its one of the hardest things you can ever do imo.

Yah as fun as it sounds to be on a stage in a speedo being watched by a bunch of dudes... :finger:

No offense Burly, yours was a different time, imo. A better time lol

Damn you had a bad experience and I never thought of it like that. I just like the thought of a girl trying to live the lifestyle and being into fitness.
