Ask Anything You Want about TRT Thread........

IMT - I had a full blood work panel done in December . My test was 300 . I'm 40 . I've also just did my follow up blood work yesterday. Would these two labs qualify me for treatment from IMT . I'm going to go see my doc again when latest results are in . I would like to have a back up plan if my doctor doesn't prescribe me the treatment I would like to follow.

Dr about a yr ago put me on gel to raise t level and I stated on it a few months until ins stopped. I'm 270, 34 and 5'9" and I can't seem to lose 50lbs. I work out 5 days a week which consists of 30 min elliptical followed by an hour or hr half of strength training. I have noticed my chest looking fat and don't know the difference between larger chest from fat or man boobs. Was wondering if there's a way to raise t without getting man boobs. I need to drop this weight and the stigma associated with roids scared me. Noobie here so all advise is needed. Btw I am eating healthy so diet isn't the problem.

Here is why it is hard for you to lose fat:

When you have low testosterone, or more importantly low free roaming testosterone, your androgen receptors do not get activated. When this happens your body accumulates fat. You need to activate your androgen receptors in order to stop this.

Sep. 20, 2012 In the body's ongoing effort to maintain a healthy weight, an arsenal of cellular proteins called androgen receptors is critical for blocking fat accumulation. Now researchers reporting in the September issue of the Cell Press Journal Chemistry & Biology have discovered that naturally occurring steroids called glucocorticoids can thwart the receptors' activity, ultimately encouraging fat buildup.

"This has implications in this era of an obesity epidemic," says senior author Dr. Michael Mancini, from Baylor College of Medicine. "If you can reduce glucocorticoids, you might be able to upregulate, or increase, androgen receptor activity and regulate fat storage."

The discovery came after Dr. Mancini and his team searched for genes or signals expressed specifically by human fat cells with the hope of gaining a better understanding of fat deposition and the development of obesity. They used a novel approach that combined gene expression studies with automated microscopy and specialized image analyses.

The approach showed that the androgen receptor is both expressed and functional during the early stages of fat cell differentiation. "Activation of the androgen receptor can inhibit the early stages of human fat maturation," says first author Dr. Sean Hartig, also from Baylor College of Medicine. The finding makes sense because androgens such as testosterone, which bind to androgen receptors, are known to favorably direct muscle differentiation, regulate muscle mass, and increase lean body mass as humans age.

The researchers also found that glucocorticoids decrease androgen receptor activity and alter the effects of androgens on fat storage. The result is deposition of fat throughout the body, particularly in the abdominal region. "Using a custom-developed image analysis software platform usually found only in large pharmaceutical screening centers, we applied specific algorithms to sensitively detect the glucocorticoid inhibition of androgen receptor activity," says Dr. Mancini.

The research suggests that treatment strategies that modulate the activity of glucocorticoids and the androgen receptor -- perhaps in combination -- may help combat obesity.

Manipulating hormone receptors may help in the fight against obesity

It is very possible that you can qualify with those labs. Simply fill out our new patient forms and send them over with your labs. I can then have the physician review them to see if you are a candidate for treatment. This is a no obligation pre approval.

Hope this helps.

yes just stop, 200 or 250 mg a week for three weeks will have started to shut you down but your mental state is more important, if you're smart you'd have some clomid available and run that for 4 weeks

HELP!!

I'm a 38yo single dad type who just felt like crap all the time. I'm a fireman so a couple of buddies told me about T-replacement. I went to the doctor and was amazed at how fast I was able to get syringes, vials, etc.

He put me on.5ml of 200test Cypionate/50test prop blend 3 times a week and 1mg of Anastrozol once every other week.

My levels were very low when I started... around 234. Now they are over 1300!! Here's the bad part... I have developed: High blood pressure (was 120/80 now 148/90), Hair loss (losing hair like crazy!!), and the worst part, erectile dysfunction!! I've never had any of these problems and now I have all three. This stuff has become a curse. There was a very short period of time there when I was getting the firmest erections I've ever had, and an insane sex drive, I was trimming down nicely and I felt AMAZING! That lasted about a month. Now I'm here and freaking out. Please help me out guys, I have no idea what to do and the doctor who prescribed the stuff has a "oh man, I'm sorry about that, I hope it works out" attitude. Here are my numbers for anyone who can help:

08/21/2012 (estradiol 9.2) (t-total 234) (Free-T 7.86 (baseline, no T))
10/12/2012 (estradiol 36.8) (T-total 1245) (Free-T 43.58)
01/31/2013 (estradiol 6.6) T-total 1335) (Free-T 51.92)

when did you do the blood work in comparison to taking the Anastrozol ?

your dosing of the Aromatase inhibitor (AI) meds is not great the frequency is too far apart. you are experiencing waiter retention high blood pressure, try .5 every day! the lose of libido is from the estrogen crash 6.6 is way too low, you need like 25 to 40 , even higher is ok long as its under 90
free test seems low too compaired to total, SHBG may be eating it up or its turning to estrogen

Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I did my first blood work on 8/21/12, at that point I hadn't taken any test or anestrozol. I then began taking the .5ml twice a week and the 1mg of anestrozol every other week.

My biggest concern at this point is the fact that I can't get a hard on anymore (a problem I NEVER had) and my hair is falling out (a symptom someone told me is due to T levels that are too high. I have no side effects from estrogen (no breast tenderness, itchiness, etc.) I have some minor oily skin and some very minor acne.

What do you all think about me stopping and starting back from square one with a doctor who actually knows what he's doing?

You T looks good. Estrogen is probably your problem. As said before, dosing of 1mg every two weeks is not good. Since you are injecting twice per week, I would take .5mg of Anastrozole twice per week too. Take it at the same time as when you inject. You E is too low right now and that is likely causing your symptoms. You may also be converting too much T into DHT. That could be the cause of your hair loss. You may want to get your DHT tested.

You could try backing down on your Test Cyp dose, but I would't juat stop. You will feel worse than you did before you started TRT.

get some mizoral shampoo on line to kill that dht in the scalp and change the Aromatase inhibitor (AI) dose. 100 mg every 3 days should be fine, 1300 not a crazy number

We also have compounded bimatoprost, its not that expensive when compounded but originally it was marketed under the name lactisse and was very expensive. For you guys that like the nizoral look into it, getting really good reviews on it.

I am 40 yrs old and looking into TRT for the first time. All the clinics want to charge $1,000 to be seen. Is there any doctors in SoCal that take insurance and will write prescriptions? I've been reading a lot and am Leary of these clinics that charge and do not accept insurance. Any help? Suggestions?

What worries you about a company not accepting insurance? A lot of specialist doctors are going that route because of the new IDC-10 codes.

IMT could accept insurance, but then the insurance companies would be telling their doctors what and how much they can prescribe. Would you rather your doctor have control or the the insurance company?

:smoker:

I'm not apposed to the clinics at all, I guess it's just what I've been reading that most of the clinics are a scam. That's why I am here to get the real skinny. Another question or maybe a few questions is this: I'm doing crossfit 3-4 times a week and feeling pretty good. I want to step it up and add some size I'm 5', 11" 180 lbs. not sure of my bf % but I need to lose about 10-15 lbs or just transfer fat to muscle. I'm on the fence and cannot find any straight answers by reading whether or not I should go on TRT or performance test such as prop, cyp etc. I also want to shred and not sure if winstrol should be used with test or not? I'm new to this and everything I'm reading is kinda scaring me off. Can I have a good experience and get results if done correctly? Just wish someone with experience here could guide me in the right direction to achieve what I am looking for, ripped by summer lol. Keep in mind my diet is good and crossfit 3-4 days a week.

Thank you in advance for any input on helping this newby clear things up before I give up on test all together haha
