Ask Anything You Want about TRT Thread........

Your primary care doctor, urologist or endocrinologist. Or give IMT, the board sponsor a call. Lots of people here vouch for them.

Ok, Here is a question. I am of the age with a 4 in front of it. My fiancé' started getting pellet injections a few years ago. Have to admit, that doesn't thrill me as they seem very invasive. Been coming to terms with the fact I might benefit from this type of therapy as well though.

Well..I went through blood tests and physicals and a complete questionnaire detailing everything I've ever done and my T(or whatever they call it) is in the 500 range. Don't have the results in front of me but it was in the 500 range. They said my GH or HGH was very good. Surprisingly good was the impression they left me with. PSA and cholesterol were good.

Then we got down to brass tacks: Price. OMG! And then on top of that I would have to go in get injections weekly.

I can live with the price. I guess I can live with weekly on-site injections. But doing both seems a bit much.

Been looking on the net and I can't tell one shop from another. As has been mentioned in this thread with fake HGH, I am looking for something legit with a real prescription on it.

Perhaps a PM is in order, but can someone steer me to a place that I can send my medical records to and at least compare to what my local shop is offering? Not really interested in those places that say something like, "If your package get's stopped by customs...", WTH? I'm looking for a legit, American prescription. Not sewer water from Tijuana.

If I asked or said something out of line, I apologize. Been a long time low profile member.

Tons of problems with HGH on black market right now. If you get with IMT you may spend more money but you know what your getting.

I wanted to start a thread for all those people reading that have questions but may be too intimated to post thinking there questions are dumb or someone will make fun of it. So basically this is a no flaming thread.

Please make sure ALL questions are related to TRT and not cycling and try to keep them short and sweet :D

I am not saying not to write it out, but lets try and keep it to 1 question per post, if you have multiple questions start with the most important and as we get them answered then feel free to make another post about your next question.

I am 39, hypothyroidism, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetic, on 2 types of insulin, pills, statins etc..... back in April I finally talked to my Dr about testing my Test Levels. he tested them 2 times 1 week apart 8 am , first time free test was 67ng.dl, 2nd time 85ng/dl. He put me on Androgel 1.62% 2 pumps per day. 2 weeks in I swell with water like a bloated whale. Dr told me to go off of the Andro gel. I did for a week but felt like a train had hit me. I went back on the gel on my own accord after getting my hand son some diuretics to wring myself out. started with 1 pump per day for a week. then 1 pump one day and 2 pumps the next repeat for like 2 weeks. then up to 2 pumps a day for 8 weeks. Dr retested my Test level and I was 59ng/dl total. It is my feeling the the Gel did nothing for me, so I got my Dr to put me in injectible, and am currently waiting for my scripts. currently I am 6 ft, 335 lbs and a huge tire around my mid section. assuming I can get my hormone levels back into check. is it unreasonable to think that this will not only help with my weight, but all my other health issues. I currently do 30 minutes of cardio per day 5 days a week and do the 5x5 stronglifts program 3 days a week, since May. not seeing any change in weight or body structure as of yet. Also to Dr wont give me any Aromatase inhibitor (AI), which I am very concerned about since i have so much belly fat. Thinking of looking into research chems for an Aromatase inhibitor (AI), any thoughts on that as well? believe Dr is going to put me on 100 mg of Test E or Cyp per week.

I am surprised you're not losing any weight on doing the type of working out you say you do. How's your diet going? Along with working out that much are you also making sure to restrict your caloric intake? In order to lose weight it is actually more important to straighten your diet than actually burning the calories with exercise.

With regards to your Aromatase inhibitor (AI) question. See what your next labs look like before you begin to worry about high E. If your doctor won't prescribe you an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) you can get that elsewhere, including through the board sponsor, IMT. Call them and they will help you out as long as you're in the USA.

If you have health insurance see if you can get some diet help through them.

The testosterone should help you get your BMI in check so it should help with you weight issues for sure.

Most men who take insulin found out they need about half of what they are accustomed to once they start TRT so Im sure it will help there.

I personally can't recommend research chems for you, you are on so many medications its not worth taking a risk not getting exactly what you are trying to buy. You would be much better off just getting it through your doctor. research as much as you can and try and educate your doctor, explain to him that in most men the higher your bodyfat is the more your will aromatize. This means you will turn more of your testosterone into estrogen.

100mg of cyp per week is a good starting point, nice and low, you can always go up.

honestly it sounds like you are a perfect candidate for TRT and it should help your health profile immensely.

hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Picked up my Script today it is indeed for 100 mg of test cyp a week. Doc prescribed 21 GA 1 1/2 pins. Not sure if I will get a 10 ml vial or 1 ml ampules and i suppose from that will determine when insurance will allow refills. from what I have read signs of high E are bloating, being overly emotional, itchy nipples and feeling lethargic? Dr is gonna recheck levels in 6 weeks, I will insist he rechecks E2 as well at that point. Local pharmacy did not have med in stock, so They are ordering it and will be here tomorrow. half life of Test cyp is like 6 days, hence the preference for 1x week injections correct? Anyone know the half life of Androgel?? It is my sincere hope that with my test levels being so low, that once raised to normal levels, that with exercise and diet and proper hormone levels I can reverse the diabetes, depression anxiety, high blood pressure and just be on Test. Thank you for your input thus far, and all the information on this board.

Use 23 or 25 gauge needles to inject. It is fine to use the bigger 21 gauge size to draw the T but switch it out to the smaller size before you inject. And 1" will probably be long enough for injecting. Do a search on here and you will find plenty of postings on the topic.

Ragnor, I recommend you halve the dose and do it twice as often, use a 25g needle in your delts. Even being fat you won't need more than 1" - you can definitely get deep inside the muscle in the delt. Twice a week means a far easier, probably pain-free injection, even lower T level fluctuation - and it is really easy.

On your other question: I am cynical, but I believe that part of the difficulty of easily getting TRT is because you will take far fewer medicines. I'm an old bastard (61), and like many I was on a bunch of drugs. Now I'm off sleeping pills, benzos, beta blockers, one blood pressure med, I've halved the other blood pressure med, taking far fewer painkillers (codeine) and generally feel fabulous. And my wife is feeling the change too. Frequently.

I also believe that your E is a problem that you will need to monitor closely.

And you're gonna lose weight.

(Edit: I've been on TRT for nine months, initially cream, now Test E for three months.)

What's the ultimate lab panel a TRT patient should ask his doctor for? There was a post by IMT Staff I have been trying to look for since it had good info on the labs which I requested being made a sticky but alas it didn't happen. Total T3, Total T4, Total T, Free T3, Free T4, Free T, E2, IGF-1, SHBG, RBC, LH, FSH, AST, ALT, lipds... what else? :) I will stop by the Urologist in a week and I want him to do all the labs needed to have a complete picture of where I am today. Thanks!

P.S. Someone please make a sticky of what a TRT patient should ask for as far as labs go with his doctor!

So i finally got my Test Cyp, first Dr script said 100mg/ml strength. dumb ass. pharmacy called Dr got 200mg/ml script, took a day to get ordered and finally last night did my first injection of 1/2 ml into my quad with the 21 ga 1 " needle. Talk about driving a nail into my leg. Ordered 25 Ga, 1 inch needles to lock in after drawing from the bottle today. I am sure that will feel much better. so i took my full dose on Friday night and planned on splitting that little does into 2 dosages Mondays and Thursday. I figure 3 little lines Monday and 2 little lines and Thursday in my big 3 ml syringe. So all that said, what should I expect to feel and how long into the process should I feel it. BTW my quad is quite sore today.

One more thing. since my insurance is paying for this and it costs like 10 per bottle. I put it on auto refill. so I am thinking I will get another bottle every month, even though at my dose one bottle is like 20 weeks supply but the insurance will allow billing every 25 days or so. Might as well stock up while I can, never know when you might lose your insurance. Should I be keeping this stuff in the fridge like i do my insulin?

Keep in mind that testosterone does have an expiration date printed on the bottle.

Smaller needle will reduce the injection pain significantly. But it is still common to feel a little soreness the first few injections as you are not used to it yet. It gets easier with some practice.

You should start feeling better within a few days. Every week you will likely notice improvements in the beginning for the first couple of months. The fog you have been in will suddenly be lifted. You won't be as tired. You will feel stronger. Your libido will increase. You will sleep better. Better concentration. You won't be as grumpy. But keep in mind that it can take some people about a month before they start noticing improvements. Everyone reacts differently.

so one more question. based on my dosage I am supposed to take 1/2 ml of my test per week. breaking it down to .3ml and .2 ml Monday and Thursday. I got 3 cc Syringes. does anyone use a 1 cc syringe for better accuracy in dosing, and if so do they use a leur lock or a slip tip?? Just seems like a wast using a huge 3 cc syringe to put in such small does of test.

I went to my pharmacy trying to find smaller needles with the same thinking as you. It would be easier to measure. They couldn't find anything with the lurelock (sp?) in the ~1" size. If you find something please post it.

Once you have a luer-lok syringe, you can attach any size needle.

I've also searched for a 1 cc (ml) syringe with a luer-lok, but could never find one. The smallest that I've ever been able to find is a 3 cc (ml). When I first started my testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) journey, I was given 1cc syringes with slip-lok for my HCG. HATE the slip lok. It does just that....SLIP! I had the needle slip off while trying to get bubbles out, and also had the needle stay in me when I tried to pull the needle/syringe combo out. (That was the last straw!) I now use insulin syringes with non-removable needles for my HCG. But, I still wish I could get a 1 or 2 cc luer-lok syringe. If anyone knows of one, please tell us where to get it!
