Dloves lifting log

Forgot to throw this out. I dont know if it's because of the long arms or what but I can't get the elbows down hlding the bar for squats. It felt like it was ripping the tendons around my elbow and inside of the arm and lower bicep burns like hell. I dont have a super wide rack so I can't put my hands looped out to the end of the bar next to the weight. Pretty lost at this point only thing that works a little is not putting the bar so far back n my traps.

This is never a good idea bro, it feels confortable but its easy to loose form this way. Just work in it brother, streching etc... and you will get used to it!

P.S. Sorry havent been around as of late, just so much going on atm, but it seems you are doing great tho;)

Ill take your word for it on the grip on squats. I tell you what this dude asked on here asked how he could grow his biceps out and PB came at him with squat. I thought he was being sarcastic but man after holding a fair amount of weight for me that is lol, holding it up in squats really swelled my arms up the past couple weeks.

This week is gonna be a bitch, not gonna be able to train until wednesday. Im heading out to attend a conference at the arena in Pitt. To think ill be sitting within blocks of Cellis Fitness and all I can do is think about training there and can't go, FUCK!

I was gonna see where my 1 rep ME is this week but keep forgetting I don't have a belt so f dat. My knees are feeling better every week I squat crazy shit huh, wouldn't had thought that.
 
Only pulled off two sessions this week due to time constraints. Strength was down but it was due to low food intake and no sleep. Pretty pissed I missed dl's but no sense in whining just gonna try an hit hard this week. I should be back in the swing of things next week like I always say, lol. Ive had the old lady take some vids of my squats the past couple weeks and its paid off. My shins are fianlly parralel and sitting way back now. Hamstring strenght seems crucial for a big squat so the westside bow squat should help increase both squat and DL. Arms and elbows aren't sore since I di

Thursday-Chest- incline bench, 5 warm-ups 2 working sets with 225 for 6.
Seated Chest press-3 sets high reps
2 sets pec-deck high reps
Concentratin curls 25lb DB 16 reps+ still love these curls only arm work beside jm press i like.
ab crunches


Saturday- Legs- Box squats- I was doing them wrong, now I will be doing them like I did today. heres a clip that explains, YouTube - westside box squat 1.

Did about 8 warm-ups 2 working with 315 for 5. The weight gets much tougher doing them westside style. this guy in the gym today was like damn dude how many sets are you gonna do, lol.

Seated leg press- 3sets 16+

Hammy curls- 3 sets 16+

Abs

Legs got an amazing pump but I need my weight belt before I can start going heavier.
 
you like doing GHR's; 45 degree hypers, or pullthrus?

Pullinbig from this board showed me that these are best used after leg and deadlift days and are a staple :_)

I love pull-threws and hypers but dont think ive tried the ghr's. Goodmornings are nice to but i still kinda sis out on the assistance work since im still rehabing the knees back in place.

Looks like a great leg workout - that is a huge number of sets - you'll feel that tomorrow, dude! iI liked the vid too - so many people do box squats wrong. I constantly get "advice" from others when I am doing them correctly. You wrapping your knees for those last sets?

Yeah dude your right a lot of people do box squats wrong. I think its cause they dont have the hamstring strength to sit back.

My legs aren't sore yet but got a nice overall feel in the body. Good appetite since taking the sustain alpha and sex drive has been up. Keepin redtube.com up on the screen is always best as well, lol.
 
very cool - I'm using Sustain alpha atm too - seems to work well - dunno. Just got another blood test (test) ffriday so that should indicate movement in one direction or the other. Vegas is always entertaining - me n the misses just hung for 4days pool, spa, eat, sleep, **** that was about it! - got in a few good workouts - golds (jay's place) was closed so we went to another one. Lots of iron, but that was about it. The hotel on the other hand had a great gym w/ jacuzzi, steam, sauna, etc. so I def enjoyed that! I'd love to go back for the Mr O competition - tht would be a trip! LOL we'll see...

Decided to go to bmore this week to reunite with some old friends and see my aunt who is dying of cancer.

Third week in a row i only got 2 sessions in and im feeling soft and flat. I did notice today that my traps are really coming out and my chest is getting bigger however so thats cool. Measured the arms this week non pumped and thier over 19 so ill take that for how shitty my devotion to training has been. Quads are bigger too. Im gonna measure the chest in a couple months and see just how much bigger it has gotten. My bench this week was still stuck at 275 for a clean 3. I was actually happy with this, I thought I would have been weaker. I would really like to have a masters pler check my form on bench. How sweet it would be to go to Tates gym in Ohio and have Dave and Jim critique my form with the big three, lol wishful thinking. The problem im having is I still cant seem to shorten up the travel of the bar on bench much but the arch in my back is there and im bringing the bar low to the upper abdomen. Ive read different opinions that you should press up and back to your spotter and ive also read from westside that when you press up you should push towards to the feet but that doesn't feel right so im confused. I will say this that I never bounce the bar and the touch is real soft now thanks to not benching BBer style anymore. I also like how it sanes my shoulders. The Squats this week were just slow strict movemnets working up to a 275 for 8 with a good bit left in the tank. Hopefully my belt will be here on monday so I can start going heavy again.

As for the maintenance dose of test and sustain alpha sex drive is still up nice and I am sweating like a pig past couple weeks. I like this low dose shit, no sides and your gear really goes a long way, lol. I have an appointment with the endo in Sept that I might need to either bump up or tell him ive been taking matters into my own hands.

Had a really good day today even though there was no gain in strength really. I got my quarterly blood work back and the results of my sonogram. My liver Alt is only 32 and AST is 36 thats the best it's ever been. It was once over 190 but I was very unhealthy not lifting partying etc... My cholestrol everyone is shocked about it's totally normal 171 the range is 75-200. Triglycerides are 169 range is 11-175. LDL is 105 and vldl 34 and hdl 32 so im pretty happy with this considering I eat some pretty massive quanities. I am still eating buffalo patties instead of ground chuck and ive swiched to egg white powder in the morning with 2 hard boiled eggs. Not eating out much at all ahen I do its usually nice salads with grilled chicken. My sonogram showed all vital organs to be normal.

I had to lay off presses this week due to a little issue with my rotator cuff so all ill got in was deadlifts and ill be hitting squats on saturday like usual.

BACK SESSION

Slammed a full throttle quick shot and really helped perk me up for todays session

Walked on treadmill real slow 10 minutes to get the blood flowing

Deadlifts 6 warm-up sets then 2 working sets 365x5, 405x7 easy 2 left in the tank. Had another issue with the fifth belt Inzer has fucked up on sending me so I did not have a belt only chalk and knee wraps on last two sets. Inzer has to have the worst customer service imaginable and the arrogant cunts I have to deal with have me absolutely livid! I pulled in my socks again like usual and am contemplating squatting barefoot or in my moccasins again too.

Assistance work

Lying HS leg curl- 3 sets
Lat-pulldown- 2sets 15-20 reps 160lbs
DB Concentration curls-25lbs for 20 reps 2 sets
HS Ab crunch

Ive been feeling a lot better this week. My diet has been a lot cleaner mostly lean meats, fish, eggs, yams , oats, rice and local grown produce which I have eating all summer. Im trying something new for PWO. I only drink a 25gram protein shake immediately after lifting then get home quick and get some good food like potatoes or rice and buffalo and veggies. I dont like the typical waiting hr and half two hrs after PWO shake like all the BBers on the site seem to recommend. Im finding I recover quicker getting food in about 30-40 minutes after my lifts.

Ive also been soaking in hot epson salt jaccuzis with mineral oil here at the house after a little meal when I get home after working out and that seems to be helping too. Still not sure if the jets on the jacuzzi is good or bad but it seems to be ok so far. Ive asked that ? here a long time ago but no one really knew the answer.

I have an appointment with the endo in september and ive been taking 250mg test a week for almost three months now so im not sure what to do. My buddy that is on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) at the gym said if I tell the doc he sees and ill be seeing that I use any steroids he will not perscribe it. So I either have to quit and let the level sink in the gutter again or bump up the appointment and deal with it at a later date. I just switched insurance carriers in our company and i dont even know if they will cover it anyway so im all confused in this departemnt.

Damn this is one long fuckin post again, lol
 
Forgot to add ive been hitting the exercise bike in the morning on an empty stomach to try an burn off some fat. Ill be alternating long brisk walks in the mornings with the bike, hopefully it will help.
 
I decided to take the whole week off lifting except some nice controlled box squats due to this rotartor cuff problem. Box squats are still at 315 for 5 but a lot was left in the tank. I really got the feel of sitting back on the box with the shins parrallel and almost a little forward finally. Definitely getting better at expoding up with the glutes off the box.

Played golf 3x this week and will be playing a lot until the end of the season since my game is really coming around. I fiqure ill have 6 months of snow here soon where I can focus on pling again so just trying to enjoy the last of the good weather for a while.

Things might really slow down this month with no test at all in the system leading up to my appointment with the endo at the end of the month. Body weight is down in the high 260's but less fat so thats good. I just got 10lbs of ground elk from a local deli and some sirloins which ive been eating like a champ and thats got me feeling pretty good. The trout this time of yr has been great too. When the rotator cuff gets better and I see the endo ill be going back on a nice 3 day split primarily focusing on pling but not squatting and deadlifting in the same week.
 
Hey man - sounds like a good plan. the golf will be excellent for keeping you flexible and fit. I'll be interested to hear what your test levels are from the endo. Good luck with that! I'm into the doc in 10 days for the same, but can't see a specialist - and the GP is generally against testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). (Maybe because he knows nothing about it????) Oh well - i'lllet u know how it goes.

Gamey as a mofo! I just had some elk burgers for dinner and besides quality fish its the only protein that makes me feel great.

Well after a month of laying off the gym today was my day back. I played a lot of golf this past month and now that the leaves are about down and the weather is brisk it was back to the gym. I needed a lay off but not a month.

Im gonna probably close this journal out and start a new one since I feel like its getting stale. I got my appointment with the endo this week si I am anxious to see how that goes. Im gonna stick to the Dlove 3 day program for a while but switch one of the squat/dead days to dynamic effort training.

Todays lifts were rough. flat bench only workin with 225 for 5 and thn DM Shoulder Press and JM's polished off with ab work.

Ill let you guys know about the results at the endo. Ive been taking normal PCT for 2weeks. Ive changed my way of thinking and I am hoping for the best that I might but not need testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but that might be wishful thinking. Peace
