Dloves lifting log

What are crushing methods? I looked up hex holds and static bar holds still little confused on them but id like to know about these crushing methods too?

Also I was curious when you like to throw these into your session? Thanx again Brudda!

Well bro like i said i like to use straps most of the time and that leaves me pretty fresh to do some grippin exercise to finish everytime!

Crushing would be like captains of crush, different balls, and ripping is good also, work up to a phone book;)

Hey Mike - i was going to buy some captains of crush - they don't have any at the gym. What size is good - is the 100 to weenie to start with - I only want to get about 2 or 3.

Ah man i cant remember only used those long long time ago, you do need some serious crush power the deal with them tho!!

I forgot to add that the best grip strentgh for me(crushing also) has come from gripping that leaves my palm open as much as possible, like hex holds, plate pinchin(can be done as reverse curls) and most of all from rapping a towel round the bar and doing bicep and fore arm curls will do wonders because you have to crush the bar to hold it. Try em!

Also you can go hardcore by bending nails, frying pans etc(its not easy) and ripping stacks of paper. I used to be able to rip a phonebook in half:D

These ripping and crushing methods sound interesting. This could be good to take any built frustration out. I dunno about the frying pans or nails though. I can see the old lady now coming home to bent frying pans, bent silverware etc.. lol. I tell her it's part of my routine. Fuck ill go rip all the stacks of paper in the office up if they piss me off. Say deal fuckers and tell them it's part of my training regimen, Bitches lol! I always wanted strong hands I know that sounds weird it's just picking up a beer bottle and it feels like your gonna crush it intriques me, lol. Im freakin nuts i know.

Mike how big are your hands dog? They gotta be massive to rip a phonebook in half?

Today and yesterday have been great rest days. I treasure these rest days now that my knees and bones are cracking and shit. I think I might have inherited my moms fibromyalgia. Shit sucks feeling achey all the time. I can actually hear the torn cartiledge in my kness when I bend down. At any rate yesterday I didn't do anything just ate some good food and went to the hippi resteraunt in WV for some organic food and great microbrew. Hit the ice cream shop up on the way home for a large cone, lol. Then dinner was good. Hard boiled mustard seed eggs and fried scallops in old bay, olive oil, lemon and little butter. Nuts and avacadoe on the side with 5 different color veggies. Finished off the night with grilled chicken strips no carbs pass 8 for me. I woke up early and went for a great walk threw the hills coffee and cell phone in hand, lol. Hit some golf balls on the range at lunch and feeling sore now.

So looking forward to tommorow probably gonna pull some weight after a long break from them. Follow it up with good mornings real strict to get the hammys. Then i dunno see how i feel as what to polish off with probably machine rows then roman chair situps with weight.

Peace

My hands are small and purdy actually!:)

Saw you edited your sig, well heres my fav Wendler quote ´´Kettlebell swings, real expensive way of doing pullthroughs``

Tuesday pm,

The Capzasin healed up my knee nicely last night for todays pulls. I am still getting used to these evening lift sessions. Their not bad I just have to watch my carbs threw-out the day so Im not all stuffed. I also have to take an iced coffee to the gym for a little jolt. More Capzasin on the the ligaments on the inside of my elbow just now, shit is burning like no other but it works. Capzasin is made from chili peppers.

My main goal tonight was to fiqure out my %'s since it's been a really long time since I DL.

Romanian DL's-5 warmups then 3 working up to a 365 5 rep ME 1-2 in the tank, major making up to do but freakin loved narrow parralel grip and stance ill never go wide again.

Leg Extension- one leg isolation plate loaded 2 warm-up then 3 60 x 12 had a good bit left in the tank because knee has been bad

Good mornings 2 sets with 135 wasn't feeling it i need some help on form it's been since highschool since ive done these

High Rope Pulls- stacked it out 190x12, gonna have to stop stack doesn't go higher

Hanging Back Stretch, loved this awesome for grip it seems like too

Plate Pinches 35lb held for a long time, hard to do the plates have those gay open hand shit around them

Crunches on Physio ball

Im not feeling a pump with my accesory work. I need to go more intense I think, I am going way to light and wrong exercises I think? I really like Romanian style DL with the narrow stance I didn't lose my grip like I would with a wide stance/grip.

All in all good day finally. I feel so much better and more focused in the gym since quiting that beta blocker and anxiety med(klonopin). I see big #'s down the road with my new style of pulling, hoping for 600 one day.

The owner of the gym was in today and so was the manager. They talked to me as soon as I walked in and asked me if I can pay for the mirror that broke. Second break in one week they said the other guy is paying for the one her broke. I dont feel I should pay for this these gay ass ruber DB's fly off the mats like a damn bouncey ball. We have 7 people on corporate membership and im the only one that goes so i dunno what to do but it's starting to bug me. The glass is supposed to be shatter proof and the owner admited that so im leaning towards not paying it what would you guys do? My chic thinks I should pay for it but she doesn't flip the bills, lol.

Oh yeah would really like to know what you guys recommend to get this fat off my hips? Tightening up the diet isn't enough.

Forgot this. I have a difficult time breaking my pull with my quads. It's all pull and sometimes a little jerk is this isn't right is it? It was a lot smoother today with new stance but still cant seem to get the quads in play. I imagine I could put on more weight if I learned to break the pull better? I finally understand what this guy was talking about at the power comp when he said big numbers are all about technique over anything else.

Yup i bloodies my shins that way - didn't even notice and it was a gusher! hahahaha - and i was grunting too - really caused quite a stir at the gym. I avoid that now - not worth it to have the scars.

About the mirror, maybe point out that you pay for 7 memberships and then offer to split it. Suks but in the long run prolly better.

We think along the same lines lean. This is exactly what I proposed. I did however ask for a quote, and said I would check with my partners as to what they think is best. They will come back with the same.

As for form on the DL's this seems to break it down like no other, a little bit of a tough read but not to bad if you take it slow. It looks as if I pulled conventional opposed to romanian. I just need to find the least taxing technique to preserve the knees. It's in here but gets a little confusing. I wish I had someone to show me this shit instead of disecting it apart on the net. Hope they dont mind me posting this my philosophy has always been share the wealth. Kick ass read!

Hey man - I just got some knee wraps that I have been using for the last 2-3 sets - work great - it adds like 5-105 to my lifts and no worries about the knees. Only thing is i have to take them off between sets or it cuts off circulation.

Now imagine if you would get a crane to assist you, imagine the weigths ´´you´´ could be lifting:D JK bro (or am i).

Now somepeople seem to be fine with knee wraps, i thinks they hurt like a MOFO!!! Even the next day they make my knees hurt a lot more, but they can give you spring from the bottom. Makes me crinch to think how some powerlifters put them on so thigth that they literally fall on theyre face after the squat screaming to someone take them off because they cant stand until they do:D

Have you tried the yet Dlove? Would make sense to try them if you have knee problems just be carefull to not wear them too much.
I like to rub some menthol stuff on my knees and just wrap them with something to keep em extra warm.

I do rub menthol on them. I like this idea of wrapping them with something to keep em warm though. Im quessing like some bigger type wash cloths? Maybe bandannas? What would you suggest bro?

If it gets worse ill need to fiqure out something. The whole cutting off circulation is what I dont like about straps either. Their just brutal on my wrists. I ony tried knee wraps twice in my life and they seemed to help during the squats but I stopped cause I was a little worried they might end up causing more probems. What I mean is I wonder by cutting off circulation if my knees/wrists lag behind wouldn't this make it worse in the long-haul?

I see mikes point making up for wrist strength with grip exercises but what about the knees? What will help make them more receptive to the gain in weight on the legs?

What about knee wraps but just use short ones and dont but them on so tigth?

I think the only and best way is 100% form, so you sit back not down and your shins stay straigth and your knee doesnt go in front of them. Doing box squats and learning this to a tee has helped me to no pain whatsoever in the knees, because this way more of the weigth pressure is on the muscle and less on the knees.

I know some people like to do heavy good mornings instead of squats to improve strentgh but to save knees at the same time.

I also know some old skool lifters that only do front squats and zerchers in training and only squat regular in comps. and this way they dont have knee pain anymore.

Just some ideas bro, it sucks big time when shit like this is holding you back.

You got that right dude I am getting frustrated. I wish I had someone who knows their shit like yourself to train with. I would know I could take things to a level I never thought possible. The other problem I sent the vid of is killing me worse.

The knees aren't in pain it's weird they just seem so weak and sound like their ready to shatter. I dunno.

TUESDAY AFTERNOON

2' BOARD PRESS- 6 warm-ups working up 265x4. Then stalled on 275x3. Tried to get more comfortable with form so I 225x7 then 135 no board real slow. I learned and felt the trick this set that mike was talking about turning the palms to the pinky as you lower the bar. It really is a great way to turn the elbows in as you lower the weight.

JM PRESSES, BB(Best exercise I have ever tried), I love them. I dont ever see doing skull cruchers again. 4x10 lightweight, triceps need help. My whole left side is crazy stronger than the right I dont know whats up. It's been like this for a real longtime.

UNDERHAND NARROW GRIP PULLDOWN
180x10. Arms were swole as a mofo after this. Reminded me of the d-bol Drol days without drol. I think the blood flow from the JM PRESS than the Bi's getting hit had somethin to do with that. When I dedicated a day to arms I would superset narrowgrip bench and BB Row=WICKED PUMP!

FLAT CHEST STRETCH Didn't break the mirror this time, lol. Im gonna pay for the one I broke. I was used to training in my basement where I used to get really intense. I had 600lbs weight and a sweet power rack and smith. Kinda miss it but the room was tiny. I loved opening the door when it was snowing and getting fresh air in.

Sit-up's 3 sets with yoga ball with real short range felt good.

All in all not real happy my strength was the same from last board press but I loved JM PRESS and I see progress in my upper body. The V is back but hips need to shed the fat. Still hovering around 260 wouldn't mind dropping this 10lbs of fat around the waist. In a nutshell learning %'s and form really seems to be whats up. Both are off on my Presses.

Hey Dlove - sounds that you are trying a bunch of new stuff now so I wouldn't be too frustrated that you can't hit the numbers. Your muscles are prolly confused as hell! (in a good way!) I am ready to try the JM presses too - I've been doing decline skull crushers but takes a long time to find the bench, set up etc. Smith Machine is easy.

About the knee thing - I got these wraps that are partly elastic and fairly long so i don't have to pull them really tight to get good support. I think the deal is that you want to take them off between sets and get a stretch in to keep the blood flowing. This idea of gettiing them super tight seems not right - it's like boxing wraps - if you get them too tite, you get cramps and they do more harm than good. Definately take glucosamine chondroitin too - that has helps my joints a TON!
