Actually not aspirating is just bad practice if you are anurse. It is something you are tauht to do, and there really is no reason not to do it.

ive never asperated because i shake to much, i just wanna get the shit in and take the needle out. I also have had a handful of shots and the nurses never asperate

Please read my posts earlier in this thread. The nurses SHOULD aspirate, they know better, they're just being lazy. That's no excuse for you. The nursees are generally NOT injecting thick, viscous oils, either.
Learn to do it, there is no decent excuse not to.

Yeah like I was saying, we have been taught to always aspirate, not doing so is just lazy. There are too many nurses that think they know what they are doing and it will never happen to them, but when it does that one time they are gonna be in a load of shit.

Right. It only takes that one time out of a thousand to screw a career. Plus, for the patient, it's a 100% complication rate!

Your asking for potentially shit loads o trouble if you don't. It's a no brainer.
I never do it, once I did hit a vein and the blood just went into the syringe by itself, dont need to pull back.

I'll asperate a couple of time during injection just to make sure. If it starts pushing to easy , and I'm using oil , I will check to make sure I didn't hit a vein.

never used to then hit a vein 2 times and holy shit i thought i was gonna die..couldn't breathe, coughing until spit was seaping from my mouth..ect..but, just monday i asperated 3cc's in my glute and no blood, then 5 seconds after i pulled the pin out sure enough i fealt it all over again?? explain that..

also does that mean all 3cc's were wasted??

''you would have to be a fool not to. takes 2 seconds and can save your life'' dont know if this is true because i allways asperate... someone said that hitting a vein isnt all that bad.. i was told by somsone on this site that they hit a vein and passed out for 6 hours and woke up fine. but i dunno

U can diet if u hit a vein and inject? And how does the aspiration process go? Step 1 - stick all 1.5 inches of the needle in the muscle. Step 2 pull on it. And if u see blood or bubbles DO NOT INJECT. Is that right? please correct me if i am wrong.

Air bubbles will pull into the syringe, and return once you release the plunger if you are NOT in a vein. When in a vein, blood will enter the syringe.

OK guys if you aspirate (pull) then push the needle it is not in the same place. so what good does it do? i have hit veins and i am not dead as some posted. hitting a vein gives a nice coughing spell esp if its tren. eq has a very nasty taste if you nick a vein. I been poking for a few years now and have never aspirated.

you go to the doc for a shot they dont aspirate. stick and push. now for IV its a different story cause you have to be in a vein.

you can aspirate and still nick a vein. =0)

my 2ml.
