How do you discard your empty vials?

I have about 4-5 empty vials. I tore off the labels off them so if anyone were to find them they couldn't tell what it was inside. However, I'm paranoid there's still small traces of gear still inside each vial. How do you guys discard them? Can you toss them in your sharps container?
