Another recipe that is high in protein and good for you

Black bean hummus

1 can black beans--easier than starting off with dry beans-which are still preferable especially for saving money
4 cans chick peas-also starting from dry is preferable but requires way more effort
1 small jar tahini--also can be found in paste--health food stores will have it.
10 toes of garlic
2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes--add some habanero as well if you really like it hot
1/2 cup high quality extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon of salt
cracked pepper
1 small handful of cilantro leaves

In a food processor drain chick peas and pulse all four cans until smooth mix in olive oil while processing, as well as salt, pepper flakes, pepper, garlic toes and 5 tablespoons of tahini, once thoroughly blended add 1/2 can of drained beans pulse until smooth, add other half as well as torn up cilantro and pulse lightly to leave chunks of beans in the hummus--delicious, vegan and good for you.

Here's a good high protein salad--I love this recipe it is easy and full of good things.

Mesomorph Salad

Ingredients:
Uncooked Shelled shrimp-One pound
5 chicken breasts
3 hard boiled eggs
1 flank steak
1/2 cup of ham cubed
2 hearts of romaine chopped
2 cucumber peeled deseeded and chopped
1 handful of cashew halves--sunflower seeds are good too, as are almond slivers
3 cups of spinach leaves
1 red or green bell pepper
1 can of mandarin oranges drained
2 teaspoon of wasabi
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
3 tablespoons of sesame oil
5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon of cracked black pepper
1/3 cup of orange juice
On a hot grill-grill flank steak, shrimp, chicken breasts, and bell pepper--I like to marinate these in Shiracha sauce--thai chili paste
Once everything is cooked slice chicken breasts, flank steak and bell pepper into bit size strips--shrimp are perfect size already-put aside this all goes on top of the salad

Salad--chopped romaine, cucumber, spinach, mandarin oranges and nuts-top with chopped hard boiled egg and chopped ham
Dressing mix in small bowl--wasabi, balsamic vinegar, orange juice, soy sauce, cracked pepper, and sesame oil.

This is very good and is a great meal for those cutting carbs but want a high protein meal

Here is another good one--If you like bananas

Banana Ice cream-no sugar added!

Ingredients

12 bananas
1 pint heavy cream
1 cup half and half
2 cup whole milk
5 tablespoons high quality vanilla extract--I like the stuff from Mexico it is reasonably priced and it does not have sugar in it.

You need an ice-cream maker for this
Put 2 cups of milk in a blender with 10 peeled bananas-blend into a slurry add vanilla
Slice two bananas into big chunks add to mixture and add cream and half and half put into an ice cream maker and voila--a wonderful banana ice cream with no sugar added.

damn husky i must have missed these..glad too see some more of your recipes..always makes me hungry when i read through here. keep em comin Husky

Incredible chili--worth the effort

Ingredients:

2lbs ground beef-90% lean
2lbs stir fry beef cut into small pieces--dime sized
5 fresh habanero peppers-deseeded and chopped
2 fresh jalapeno peppers sliced into thin rounds
2 dried chili-peppers-thai or mexican are fine
12 toes of garlic-chopped
1 bundle of cilantro chopped
1 can of Ro-tel tomatoes-diced with green chilis
4 cans of whole stewed tomatoes
1 can chili hot beans--red beans in a chili sauce there are lots of brands out there I like Brooks
1 green pepper chopped
1 yellow pepper chopped
1 red pepper chopped
1 large yellow onion
1 teaspoon of black pepper
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons of Chili powder--lots of good brands out there--it is cheap but a good flavor for lots of meals
1 bottle of beer
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 small handfull of sun-dried tomatoes chopped
1 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Brown meat with onions, Chili powder, black pepper and olive oil--once browned add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about two hours--let cool and reheat the next day--it is best the next day when all of the flavors have finally melded.

The Chili sounds awesome, Husky. How many "average" people would this feed? Also, what are the carbs/fats/protein in this chili?

Thanks.

the best thing to do is ADD up all the ingrediant nutrients and then divide by however many serving you wanna make it into.

I find it impossible to make a small batch of chili--this is definitely more than a couple of servings, but it freezes well if you make too much. I do not know what average means when it comes to eating I am a big eater. Most of the carbs in this chili come from vegetables and the one can of beans, the meat is fairly low in fat, and the protein is fairly high--exact amounts I do not know.

Simple egg meal-very easy, very tasty

Ingredients:
6 eggs beaten with 1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup of freshly grated parmesan or asiago cheese--do not use pre-grated grate yourself!
1 cup lightly steamed broccolli
2 green onions chopped finely
1 carrot grated
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch salt
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
1 pat butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 red sweet pepper chopped finely

In a cast iron pan--or a frying pan but cast iron is superior, get pan hot on stovetop to 350 degrees. Add pat of butter and olive oil, put in chopped onion, grated carrot, cinnamon, red pepper, red pepper flakes stir until sizzling then add broccolli, stir some more.

Add shredded asiago cheese into egg mixture and pour into sizzling pan, stir vigorously until everything is coated with egg cheese mixture cook until eggs are firm.

The best scrambled eggs ever.
