I'm 18 and want to start a cycle, but I know I'm probably wrong

Hello everyone, I recently found this site and after lurking around for a bit, it seems this board is full of experts that could help me out.

As I stated in the title, I am 18 years old, 5' 7", and 160 lbs. According to my doctor, my growth plates have closed, and I am finished going through puberty.

I have been working out for about a year and a half, before I started I was 130 lbs. Not all lean muscle of course, but at least it was better than being thin as a rail.

My problem is, for the past two months, I feel as if my gains have completely halted. I've tried changing up my routine, but it seems like I just can't make any more progress.

This problem is putting a huge dent in my motivation. Which is why I decided to start some research on AAS, and won't dare to use if I don't know everything there is to know about them (which is a pretty overwhelming amount). It's just frustrating to look and Pro Bodybuilders and know I can never get to that level naturally, while it seems I am busting my ass to only gain five pounds a year.

However, it seems every steroid forum out there have different opinions on when it's a good time to use them. Some places. I read using under the age of 18 would be harmful to ones health. But, I also hear that as I long as the growth plates have closed up, it's ok to use them, like this thread here.

I'm not really sure who is right.

I posted my diet plan as well, maybe something is wrong with it and that is what's causing my problem.

Diet
Code:
9 AM: Protein shake with a banana and oats
10 AM: Four scrambled eggs with chopped peppers, onions, spinach, and sausage
12 PM: Two chicken breasts with brown rice and assorted vegetables (Corn, peas, etc.)
2 30 PM: Post workout protein shake
3 PM: Dinner leftovers (usually meat like chicken breast, pork chops, steak, with more brown rice)
5 PM: Two cans of chicken breast
8 PM: It Varies, usually meat like chicken breast, pork chops, steak, with brown rice and assorted vegetables.
11 PM: Peanut butter and honey sandwich on whole wheat bread along with almonds, cashews, peanuts, etc.

I wont chime in to tell you to take a cycle, but for your diet..throw in a gainer in the morning breakfast and some cottage cheese at night

you need food , not steroids . go to the diet forum here at ology and seek help from the mod 3J .

steroids can cause growth plates , do you really want to chance that at 5 foot 7 ?

Gain steady and see what it actually takes to maintain and keep growing NATURALLY for a few years. THEN hop on the gas if you like.

You need to know how to gain and maintain naturally first and that takes time and trial and error! If you could listen to one post, listen to this one!

Mega,

Also, if you're already interested, chances are you're going to use it at a younger age regardless of what experienced people tell you.

Therefore, try to be mature and set a law for yourself. Tell yourself you're not allowed to use it until 21 years old. Celebrate at 21 with a cycle. That's a reasonable age to use in your case. If people tell you not to use until you're 25, you're never going to listen and you'll end up using it now.

What does everyone think? Is 21 a good age for him?

It doesn't actually depend on age though. It depends on experience, but planning on 21 for a first cycle is better than doing it now.

I see what you're saying GM. I did my first PH cycle before I was disciplined enough to actually get good results from it. It was after that that I realized I wasn't ready and concentrated solely on natural gains. Sometimes it takes messing up to realize you're wrong and to get your stuff worked out.

I agree. Once you have EXPERIENCED gaining and maintaining naturally for at least a few solid years, then hit the gas if you like. There would be nothing worse than gaining on steroids only to find out you don't yet understand what it actually takes to maintain it by eating and training consistantly LONG TERM. It's harder than it sounds and that's why you actually need to do it for a while before jumping on roids.

Piggybacking on GM's post I will say this... The majority of users here will attest to the fact that lack of discipline is the number 1 reason people don't get the results they are looking for. It takes a ton of discipline to eat and train like a bodybuilder. The reason many people say to wait until you're 25 to cycle is because it's hard to be that disciplined at younger ages. The pre-frontal cortex is not fully developed until we are 24-25 years old, and until then most of us continue to be pulled in different directions in terms of what we want and don't want. Cycles take commitment. Commitment is hard to understand when you're being pulled in different directions.

The biggest thing is eating. EVERYONE says they know how to eat but they don't. You need to eat the same minimum amount of food every single day of your life with no exceptions and gradually increase this amount in order to keep growing. Do this for 3 years straight and I say you know what it takes and you can use roids.

Mega,

Is all this sinking in? You need to be mega dedicated to take our advice and be strong enough to wait and learn before hitting it otherwise you will lose everything like the average dink.

Thanks a bunch for the responses guys.

I understand what you guys are getting at. As much as I would have love to have read "Yeah, man you're good to go" I have to be realistic.

Just a question though on discipline. It's probably easy to assume that because I am young that's easy to slip up, but I assure you that even at this age I'm willing to do whatever it takes.

For me, eating the same thing every day is fine. I stay away from all junk food like ice cream, cookies, candy, fast food, pizza, pretty much all the things most teenagers binge on, and I don't miss them one bit.

As for dedication, I'm pretty much locking myself in the house to achieve my goals. I do my college courses online at home. I haven't even hung out with any friends for a very long time so I could stick to my diet. It can get a bit lonely at times, but like I said I'll do whatever I need to get to the physique I am after.

By no means am I doubting the knowledge of you guys, which by reading some threads on this board, it's easy to say you know what you're talking about. I'm just saying that dedication and discipline is no problem for me.

Be careful. Prohormones can screw up your natural hormone levels.

You should get some blookwork done and see where your natural testosterone levels are at right now. That sort of thing is good to know for anyone working out.

I think you'd probably see some good results from a PH, but they are not natural. They are a precurser to a hormone so the effects will be the same as anabolics. Both the good and the bad.

Be very careful with ph's the good ones have horrible side effects brother. M-drol gave me gyno, but it says it might on the bottle so I'm to blame.

If you get on anything, it's your choice not ours but please, for your own sake get with an experienced vet and have them guide you through your first couple of cycles before you try to do one without supervision. Stay focused and stay positive. This game imo is only 10% gear. It's 50% mental and 20% physical(genetics).

Mega,

You are dedicated. I can tell you are, but you need to experience WAY more. You've only been at it for a year. It's actually really silly that you're already thinking about steroids. When you're one of the bigger guys in the gym, then go for it if you want to. By then, you'll know a little something.

there is plenty of natural alternatives that you can do for a while bro.. look into the prohormone forum.

WTF have you been smoking? ever looked at any of the "PH"s lately? they're almost all designer steroids - aka steroids that were forgotten about because they were outdated or served no purpose in medicine.

that or they're DHEA

know what you're talking about before you give advice to noobs. those things are just as much "steroids" as orals that are illegal.
