Jen..16.5 weeks out 1st comp

Damn, Very impressive.
Hopefully I'll be in town before you hit the stage, so can watch the final transformations and fine tuning at the gym.

As previously stated, you could use more shape to your legs. Your upper body looks great, especially this far out. Take the diet nice and slow, you have tons of time. I'd guess you're in the low teens for body fat.
 
If I've said it once I'll say it again. You have youth on your side, girl. I see a great future in the sport for you.

Absolutely awesome progress, especially upper body. Keep it up and best wishes on your comp. :):):)
 
hahaha, it's a good workout for both partners.

I think your gonna do great at the comp. Your off to a great start for sure and you've got plenty of time left to get in the condition that you need to get in. Where's the comp. at anyway?

Dr.X, Im in agreement, legs need more work.. the man thats getting me ready for comp agrees.. we're working on them. I will add tho that the pic doesnt do them much justice... I do have better cuts than appears to be.

TY rubberducky! My plans are to have a future in this sport for sure.. just takes time and work to get there.. but Im young!

Oh right on. You could get a little cardio in on your way there haha, probably be snowing and cold as hell around the comp. though.

Nice work Jen. I don't think you'll need 16.5 weeks to get ready. You appear to be fairly lean already. I would imagine you'll be able to coast the last 6 of your contest prep. Good Luck.
 
Jen - I can't really estimate your bodyfat because I'm not used to doing that for women. I'd guess about 9% based on what I see, but I believe women that "look" as lean as men actually have a higher percentage. That's normal.
 
make sure to do regular updates. i am very interested in your progress since i am planning on working as a body oiler upper for womens competitions.

i can also do nipple tweaking for those extra fractions of points from judges.

I can't say specifically what will work for you because I believe that a woman's physiology is different than that of a mans. I don't know if it is better to go the high rep route or low rep route for women.

I can say that I saw a dramatic gain in the size of my thighs and quads by using this pre-exhaustion routine for squatting:

Seated Leg Press:
4 sets x 10 - 15 reps

Leg Extensions:
3 sets x 10 - 15 reps

Thigh Curls:
2 sets 15 reps


Squats:
4 sets x 5-10 reps (heavy weight)


I actually picked this workout from a Lee Haney article. His version differs slightly with the set scheme but it is in essence the same principle; to thoroughly pre-exhaust the legs before squatting.

I did it for about 6 weeks and put an inch on my upper legs. My thigh sweep is more noticeable as well as my quads.

I cannot say that this will work for you but at some point you might consider it.

Trev, you are correct.. men/woman hold fat so differently. I know Im not 9%..thats comp goal. Im thinking Id be around 14??? ughh I dont know.. lol

clubfoot.. thanks for the help!! I appreciate all the advice I can get! my boss/trainer that is getting me ready for the comp had me start prehausting the legs as well before squats..but I was doing 4 sets of leg extensions only prior. keeping all reps high, 20-25. Ill have to give your suggestion a go! :)
 
you see its just like any job that at one time people did themselves or had a friend do but then later on specialists came along who were better at it and then everyone used them. i can oil a girl up much better than anyone else out there and i can tweak those nipples to a perfect point. for those competitors looking to get every fraction of a point i am the man.
