My cutting diet

1 more question... i bought some almond butter so ill be eating that.. can i eat that and still eat peanut butter before bed...

I bought some flax oil as well but im a little confused.. on the label it says total fat 11g then it says monounsaturated fat 2g poly unsaturated fat 8g or something.. are these included in the total fat or should i add them together??

everything in moderation my friend.. but if you were to compair almond vs peanut butter, almond butter would win every time

just use to total fat count.. it's giving you a breakdown of the fats in it..

btw.. flaxseed oid isn't the best efa choice cuz your body doesn't do the best job of breaking it down... id use what you bought, but look to other sources when your done with it...

From I've seen on here, keto seems to be typically implemented on a 2 week on, 2 week off cycle. What type of diet is recommended for the off part of the cycle?

your body will begin to starve itself.. go catabolic... at that point you'd lose 60% muscle 40% fat..

we're trying to get you to the point where your losing 75% fat 25% muscle....

with your new bf estimate.. i'd drop to about 135g fats...

trust the numbers my friend..

now here comes the issue.. can you run keto or do you wanna do a low carb (150g) approach?

Where are you getting these %

can you guys check these numbers and tell me what you think..

im 5'10 190 pounds @ 22% ..

im eating at 1892/310/32/51 thats cals/protien/fat/carbs

do i need to up anything or bring anything down in your opinions? get back at me.

How long have you been on your diet? That should be one of the first questions anyone asked you (i'll guess not long) but If its been a while then you taking in 350g Protein and 150g Fat is not in your best interest and personally I hate giving any opinion until you answer that.

Also with the amount of muscle your carrying around 350g of Protein is overkill and in addition I hate to be an ass but from your build you can tell you really aren't working hard in the weight room or haven't in the past. Out of all the macronutrients none is more expensive then Protein and if you don't need that much then don't use it.

I would look at 200g overall of protein. Also I would also be looking towards 150g Fat- Now the key is paying attention as you start to get leaner that protein number will need to come up and that fat number down. Lastly it seems like your intent on using a keto diet although I'm not a large fan of it.

good point dirk.. based upon his stats i would say it hasn't been long myself also..

and yes, 350g is too much, but i'd say he should push for more then 200g... maybe 250ish...?? but we're splitting hairs here..

absolutly not..

keto should be ran for about 10-12 weeks imo...

just common knowledge passed down to me from pro nutrition guys...

if you disagree please explain!! i always like to here diff philosophies..

I disagree- There is absolutely no set stone in how much % a person will lose. Thats impossible to tell based on how a diet is setup. Why not 65 / 35? or 70 / 30 or even 62 / 38....Is losing 60% muscle and 40% fat for somone that is working out or sedentary?

See what I'm kind of getting at. You just can't quantify this. Why are you not trying not lose any muscle? why 25% - Not losing any muscle is not impossible. Granted you will lose some water that makes up LBM but not losing muscle is very easy to do if you do things right.

250 is probably fine if i can constantly do it.
The problem with most new individuals is 250g of protein is really a lot to eat in terms of volume for most individuals. 350 is a pain in the ass and chore.

If someone can make muscle gains or hold muscle with the lowest amount possible then that should be the goal. Tweek the diet to add more protein once you max out. He is far frome being maxed out.

so ive lost 3 lbs so far (roughly a pound per day) and my totals are coming out around 2650/124/24/340 thats cals/fat/carbs/protien

im a little concerned about my carb intake tho.. i eat 8 carbs at breakfast in the form of egg whites.. but then the rest (majority) i eat right before bed as my 6th meal in the form of 2tbsp almond butter, 1 tbsp peanut butter, and 1 scoop casein.. is this okay since the foods are slow digesting and i wont be getting all the carbs at once? i hope this doesnt fuck with my keto because i need at least 2 tbsp of peanut butter or almond before bed or ill be too hungry to sleep... what do you think?

Carbs are fine-

How much cardio are you doing?

humm.. seems i put that the wrong way.. the percentiles were to get members to kinda understand how your body burns certain things at certain caloric intakes...

i shouldn't have been so detailed.... your right... good catch...

after i keto for 2 weeks will i be able to go on a low carb diet and still lose weight? im trying to get down to like 14-15%

how can there be a minimum time to run a diet? i feel like shit all day and im starting to feel and look puny i dunno if i could do this for 10 weeks.. and you mean 2 on 1 off right?

1st - This is one of the reasons I do not like Keto diets among many, the psychological effects can not be handled by many.

2nd - Suck it up. Dieting is not fun. You got fat because you couldn't eat right to begin with and its going to take a long time to lose the fat. You can't just go one week of doing something and the next something else. It is consistency with the correct modifications.

3rd - Your not muscluar to begin with and once you finally get down to say 10 to 12% your not going to weigh that much. Maybe somewhere between 170 and 175. So get over the puny idea. Yes your puny now but if you can suck it up and get yourself down and continue eating right in the future you won't be.
