Who's on doctor prescribed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) ?

I don't understand why you need blood tests to determine dosage.
injecting the hormones are going to stop you from producing your own anyways

At your standard dose of 100mg/week, you are only supplementing your own natural production of testosterone.

ie. You will still be producing natural testosterone ,,,,,, that dosage is not enough to make you stop producing it naturally.

I'm 23

testing is to determine what dose of test puts you in the normal natural test range . what your doing is running a cycle and thats not the same as HRT/TRT.

31
about a year now
4 pumps androgel
absolutely..or should i say because i did NOT cycle...the doc says it'll go up eventually but i dont want to feel like SHIT until it does.

androgel is a pain in the ass everyday, i am trying to tell the doc to put me on inject, but (maybe because of my history of use?) he wants me to come in the office for injects, which is another $15 copay plus $60 for shot....androgel cost me $40 a month

Testosterone blood levels

Can anyone tell me if my Total and free Testosterone are at a good level for building muscle.
The total = 464 ng/dl
The free =131 pg/ml

What is an average for body builders.

I have similar sit, just started inj instead of andro crap that didn't do a whole lot.My doc
is starting me on 100mg of depo every 3wks to start, Bfd ! Wants to see how the level
goes first. Retake my blood after 9 wks then adjust accordingly.I also asked if i could do the inj myself he said no we don't do that here. IT is prescribed and each time i go there is no co pay that was first thing i asked, i can't afford that .They said no! it billed to ins.
under lab work. anyhow 100mg every 3 wks come on whats that gonna do ? He's just
gonna keep my level at the middle i just know it.

Being injected every 3 weeks is terrible. Go to a new doctor.

Help.

I would definitely like your opinions with my case. I'm not a bodybuilder (although I wish I were) but I hope that if ANYONE can give me good advice, it should be the experts in this forum;

I suspect that I've had low Test levels all my life. I was a very late bloomer. Facial hair in my 20's. High-pitched voice. Weak physically. Low libido. Prone to depression.

Yet SOMEHOW I managed to find a girlfriend (now wife) and had 3 kids.

After the 3rd kid (7 years ago) things in the sack got really, really bad. Never really spectacular to begin with.

Finally mustered the courage to see a doctor after reading an article on low testosterone in men. I felt I had all the symptoms (low enegy, low sex drive, mild depression, etc.). He was hesitant to believe me, but my blood result came back and my Test level was at 132.

Age 37.

It's been a year now, and I've been going to the doc every 3 weeks (just about). At first I got patches, but they irritated my skin. Then I got the gel, but after 3 weeks my Test level dropped down to 85!!!!!

Been getting shots ever since. But I suspect my dosage is really low. He's been giving me between 1.5ML and 2.0ML every three weeks. I think. My vial says "Testosterone MDV 200/ML" and the directions say; "INJECT TWO ML EVERY THREE WEEKS". One bottle lasts about 3 injections (the doctor gives 'em to me).

I get a blood test just about every 6 weeks. Sometimes it's high (500 to 700) and sometimes it's low (200's). Supposedly my doc wants to stabilize my levels in the 700/800 range.

I was also going to the gym for about 9 months, but with no noticeable gain. I'm an ectomorph (only 5'-7") with very narrow shoulders, scrawny arms/legs, and a flabby belly that refuses to go away. Haven't been back since June/July.

I just mentioned to my doc that I was hoping (after a year) that my libido would be back up to what it was in my 20's, but he said that THAT isn't going to happen. He just wants to prevent muscle loss as I get older, and gave me a sample of Cialis. He doesn't think that my condition was there all along because I got my wife pregnant 3 times. So "no" on the higher dosages (although I think he gave me a little more this time around...maybe 2.5?)

I'm confused & frustrated.
Do I need a new Urologist? Am I expecting too much? Do I need to supplement my shots? (I don't necessarily mean illegally.)

Help.

Your libido likely isnt returning because of the roller coaster your on getting a shot every 3 weeks. Thats why your levels are all over the place, and as a result thats causing other hormone levels to be all over the place. The body likes homeostasis and best results come with stable blood levels. Id get a new doc, one who will give a shot every week and also one who will aim for the uppper end of the range.

VERY solid advice.

I hadn't thought of that.
Yeah...I think it's time for a new doc.
Thanks for the advice!

40 y.o.
1 week on - 149 test level
Androgel 1%
4 cycles maybe 5 - long ago
prohormones - 3 cycles in past 5 years

would prefer to use injections - easier quicker and way cheaper. anyone know what an equal dosage of cyp or eth would be and if post cycle therapy (pct) is needed for HRT - poss just nolvadex once in a while to keeep estrogen levels at bay.

Question. Just for the hell of it what could happen if you were on HRT for what ever lets say 3 to 5 years and for some reason lets say you were getting your test on the street and now you cant get it so you abruptly stop HRT what would be the result or negative reprocuction if any?

Yes...your body will most likely produce 0 testosterone at all. If it ever did produce it again, it woulnt be for a very long time, and also it would be a terrible amount. Most testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doesnt shut you down completely at first, but after 3-5 years, ur pretty much 100% synthetic.

1) 31 yrs old.
2. been 1yr , 6 months on 150mg enanthate/wk, with 350iu HCG 2x and .25mg adex
3. probably my own fault from being stupid and young??

So for all you guys that are on HRT/TRT, is this helping with building muscle as well as feeling better?

Thanks.
