thetopdog said:The main problem with Deca is that it has the potential to shut you down hard, and make recovery very difficult. The long ester doesn't help either
.jediclampet said:-More bloat- Not neccessarily true, some bloat more on short esters
-Harder to control hormone levels - Not true....
-Must either frontload or wait to build up levels at the beginning of the cycle - Nothing wrong with that...
-Harder to time post cycle therapy (pct) - Not true at all, care to explain your thoughts
-if you experience unwanted sides (e.g. deca dick) you gotta wait longer for them to subside - I'll give you this one....lol
-less hormone (more ester) per milligram of gear - The amount is negligable.....
...I might be forgetting some

-It is not true that most people bloat more on long esters? Compare test prop to enan or cyp. The common belief is that people tend to bloat more with deca vs. npp.
-When I said "harder to control hormone levels", I was really refereing to the next two points (getting hormone levels up at the beginning of the cycle and timing post cycle therapy (pct) at the end)
-When I said it's harder to time pct, I mean with prop, the gear is in and out of your system very quickly so you can beging to recover sooner. With long esters like deca, you can start your post cycle therapy (pct) at precisely 3 weeks or whenever but there will still be exogenous hormone floating around for quite a while, thereby hindering recovery (so I guess this is really the same problem as sides persisiting longer).
The importance of any of these points is debatable but I know that I will choose npp over deca for my purposes everytime.
One could easily make a list of advantages of long esters too. Less frequent injections obviously. Also, people say they get a much more pronounced benefit from joint lubrication for deca vs npp...
