Winterlong's Log

damn that sucks. i has to tell mulligan to back the hell up a few times cause he was a little too close for comfort. he also likes to wet his hair mid workout and ends up dripping on my head. shit pisses me off to no end.
hahahaha sometimes I sweat on my friends when I spot them. It's annoying when I ask random guys for a spot and their groin rub against my head when they spot cuz I don't wanna sound like an asshole and tell them to back up so I just lay there takin it :druggie:

Lol. But sometimes when the weight is heavy, the spotter must be as close to the bar as possible in order to insure maximum safety. This is why when I'm spotting I stand really close, even if my shlong is dangling on top of the lifter's face

Sept 6th
Back
Sumo Deads
135x10
225x8
325x3
365x3
385x2**PR
405x1**PR - I could've pulled another one. The 405 came off the ground very quickly and smoothly; it wasn't too bad.

Pulldowns
225x6
240x6

Biceps
50x8
65x6

Great workout today. MOW gave me a good motivation chat before the 385 and 405.

I didn't know I was gonna pull 385 or 405 today so I didn't bring a camera.

I'm taking a break off deads next week.

Yep... I am pretty awsome. Couldn't have done it without me.

Great job man, I'll be there soon

Nice numbers winter. Why the sumo's as opposed to the regular ones?

explain...
I hurt my back doing conventionals & I do not want to risk it again. I just find that my back bends over very easily on conventional deads compared to sumos. Even on my very heavy lifts, my back always has a nice little angle to it and it never completely bends over when I do sumos.

so then theres no real basis to say that sumo's are better then conventional deads, just a different approach?

Yeah, pretty much. Lots of people with longer legs tend to do Sumos also because if they were to do conventional, their legs would get scrunched up inside and it wouldn't be comfortable. It's all about comfort, IMO.

Yea. It was just my opinion, I feel sumos are more comfortable and I'm less prone to injury, just personal preference

got it... i like to focus mainly on the back rather than the legs when doing deads so i like the conventional way better.

That's cool. Whatever you're comfortable with is good.
