Gimp said:well..I should have saved it..but read an article somwhere online bout a study that concluded there was no difference in the rate of fat loss in subjects whom ingested 300 gr. of high glycemic carbs. vs. those whom ate only low glycemic carbs... I'm not sure I'm convinced tho.

3 times bump hereI_feel_nothing said:Dirk, I know you probably don't wanna give up your trade secrets or whatever, but do you have any reading you reccomend or anything on this "metabolism manipulation" you speak of. I find it really hard to get mine really fired up w/o tons of cardio. Any words of wisdom would be a appreciated.

so switching cardio and changing setting can be used the same way as routine changes to help keep ones body "guessing"???DirkMoneyshot said:Remember that "steady cardio" over long periods causes you to get better at burning fat. However that just means you burn less fat in the same amount of time as before. Not more-
I will say that there are a lot of times where this type of cardio is needed and that will just depend on the individual. Remember this is all about being different from everyone else. While we are similar in most ways we each have our own difference that makes us unique and that is why we should never give specific advice to anyone without knowing in detail about them.
That is one reason I almost never answer a question about someone asking for "is my diet okay" because honestly I have no idea. It might just be okay but without me sitting down and talking to you more about you as an individual its a crap shoot.
when i talk routine change i mean going from a full body BB routine to maybe a PL style format..DirkMoneyshot said:The way you say "routine changes"----I think we are on two different ideas here. I do not believe that changing from doing incline bench press 1st in your exercises instead of 2nd is a routine change and most people think it is.
So i'm not sure if I can answer the question you have on switching cardio. Cardio is probably 3rd in the list of metabolism boosting compared to diet and weights. The key is to get the first 2 perfected so you don't have to do cardio or very little (1 or 2 session / week).
DirkMoneyshot said:Next comes your diet- You have to get yourself into a fat burning mode. Again this comes back to everyone eating just ridiculous amounts of food when you probably don't need it. Your never going to get your metabolism reved up if your body is in fat storage mode because of the excess kcals your eating. Adjust your kcals so they are low enough to where your body is in fat burning mode (not so low your metabolism starts to slow) and then use what I have always said. Higher Kcal days or half days. You can go back in this forum for years and i've told you this same stuff. Eating 1/2 a day of higher kcals is not going to make you fat especially if your body is primed for it.
