It's nice to see people who train smarter AND harder. Good job, adidamps. :wiggle:

alright i taken a little over a week and a half off..and have decided to try soemthing new..German Volume Training (GVT)..although i will be doing it a lil unconventional as i wont be working one body part a session...

so heres my proposed schedual for the next 6 weeks:
for those of you well versed in GVT is it even ideal to attempt to do the big 3 in a single seesion?

day1

BB sqt
225x10-10sets

BB bench
155x10-10sets

Dead
225x10-10sets

cable crunches
140x10-10sets

day2
the "Bear"
unsure of wt to start off with herex10-10sets

be sure i will be 3-4 sets of warm up before i start on the actual GVT wt.
rest intervals will be set at 60 sec per set and 90 sec between exercise change over.

after this 6 week trial period i will most likely come back to my FB work outs...

I think you should really do the one exercise per session deal with the GVT b/c if you're going to do your big 3s all in one workout, you will be BURNT. Some auxiliary exercises w. your main lift during the GVT is okay.

you know i guess could split the big 3 up into the 2 days..
i just really dont want to try and spend more than 2 days a week at the gym..this last go round with my FB work out..i was making great gains and progress on my 2 w/o's a week. i just wanted to try soemthing a lil differnt this time...

i would say that if your body can take it, so be it.
It's one thing for your body to take it, but it's a whole other thing to actually make gains from it.

I just think that your body will be too taxed after one of the big 3 if you're going to do 2 of the big lifts in one session. I mean, I used to do heavy squats/deads on the same day, but my gains were very, very slow.

you make good points..
the other side of this that GVT is not maximal loads it only a fraction of a max load (roughly 60% 1 RM). however the other side of that is its 10 sets of 10 reps with short rest periods (60sec or less)..

i think i will experiment with it and see what happens.
if i can see gains and make progress i will work with it.
if i am struggling after my squats i know that i will have to make adjustments after that.

and thats Luq..i think its hot too. LOL
