Cut Diet and getting Abs showing

yea taking a week off every 14ish weeks is a good idea.. u go in stronger...

dont worry about that just yet... lets do a clean refeed.. drop your fats, keep your protien the same, up your carbs to 300g plus..

i would keep the carbs away from bed time.. first 4 meals of the day should be refeed.. 80g of carbs per meal..

Definitely needed the re-feed. Felt like a million bucks this morning during cardio.

BTW: Not sure why but my weight spiked 1.5 pounds on the re-feed and i didn't really eat much just upped the carbs and cut the fat.

remember, a refeed is like taking one step back so u can take 2-3 steps forward

makes sense... how many carbs did u take in?

Roughly 300ish? I say roughly because i didnt weigh out my red potatoes or rice last night but basically doubled my intake on meals 4,5 and 6 so im guessing between 280-320.

The one step back for 2 steps forward is kinda what i expected. I didnt mind the weight spike cause i felt so good. When i feel that good can i go extra on the cardio? or do i really want to keep a routine and not deviate? I really felt like i could have gone an hour no problem this morning.

oh and whats your thought on morning shake after cardio? I know your a big fan of quality food for breakfast and not shakes but what about a shake plus a smaller breakfast?

keep the routine the same... dont change.. and yes up your cardio slowly.. up intensity slowly... but do it SLOWLY

morning shake after cardio is fine... liquid egg whites is better imo... but the shake is fine

Does it matter when i eat my EFA's? Ive kind of eliminated most of my fats other than the fat coming from my protein but the last few days ive added a tbsp of almond butter to my pwo shake adding about 10g fat. Should I eliminate this entirely and stick to my protein only fats?

hey man, i do not have any advice because im still a noob at this...I just found your thread interested and wanted to know what weight you started at and your bf%

welt, efas are important.. thats why theyre called ESSENTIAL fatty acids...

dont take them out of your diet.. ur body needs them.. try to seperate your pro/carb and pro/fat meals.. the almond butter pwo is fine...

add the efas buddy, they'll actually help you lose weight.. make sure your getting at least 30g of efas a day.. minimum, and thats low balling it...

Gully, no idea what my bf was (it was alot) i am 5'10" and was 270+ pounds in a 46-47 waist. I had an illness that caused me to lose 110 lbs but it left me decimated. Starting working out slowly on a treadmill and lifting 5 and 10lb weights that was a little over a year ago. Now im 180-185 and guessing on my bf at 13-15% (according to 3j) im shooting for 10% by late july.

Ive come here, gotten great diet advice and been hitting the gym hard. Im on the right path im currently in a 31 waist but getting more cutup by the day ;)

Great info 3j thanks, ill add them more i was only getting about 20g a day originally and dropped that down to about 10g for a few weeks. Just added back the almond butter yesterday.

Ill keep them between 30-40 for a few weeks and see how it goes. I get them almost entirely from almond butter now but will go back to my flaxseed capsules as well.

So to get this right, if my fat intake is about 50g i want 30 of those to be EFA's? or i want 50 + 30 EFA's?

flaxseed is crap.. doesn't absorb well..

u dont like avocados???

Nah cant stand avocado. Any other good EFA's? I like the almond butter, how is that? Also love olive oil for my salad but rarely eat salads any more. Should I add them back into my diet?
