how did you find the groove of floor presses?
depending on ones build will determine how low te bar goes
ive only done them a few times a long time ago but if i remember right it seems to be it would help a bencher with a higher groove?

I think we were surprised how low the bar went. Flare the elbows out and the bar went all the way down for all of us, I think.

ive almost touched my chest with floor presses..but i was trying to figure out how low as in can you get the bar to your belly..i try to do all my work raw or shirted in my shirt groove

ive also done floor presses as speed work i think i like it better that way rather than as max effort but i will give these anothe shot

the bar was only a couple inches off my chest. i used a high grove as well. old style, flat back, elbows out, high bar benching. jes like the old days.
 
10/24/05 mon:
pause squats 415# 2 x 5reps, raw
hips 205# 25ea.
ghr 3 x 5reps
abs 2 x 5reps, steep decline with bar in squat position.
 
on cruise right now. next meet is 1/28, full power. start training for that on ein 2 week sor so.

still nursing a groin injury so tonight i did lite, narrow stance pause squats. skipped 2nd pressing movement. should be 100% in a week or two.

raw paused bench, pinkies on the rings 365# 6 x 1reps
flat paused db bench hammer grip 120# x 6, 130# x 6, 140# x 6
front raises two handed light band x 20
side raises light band 2 x 10reps
pull-a-parts strong + monster mini 2 x 10reps
 
10/27/05 thurs:
seated cable rows 300# 6,8,8
wide handle face pulls 210# 2 x 10reps
GHR 3 x 5reps
reverse hyper 270# + green band 3 x 10reps

no i didnt lift and yes it was a freak show. 6 squats over 1100, one over 1200.

kyle won the middle weights. in fact the three nc lifters took 1,3,4 in the middle weights. travis did not lift.

the results are posted at teh wpo home page.

chuck lifted in the 275s. he was thick. totaled high 2400s.

leg press 1340# x 20 w/knee warmers
had to cut work out short, that’s it.
