pullinbigs training log.

11/25/05 fri:
shirt work all singles
465#, 555#, 585#, 615#
raw 4 board with dbld bands
135# + average x 5, 135# + average + monster mini 2 x 1reps

average + monster mini bands dbld adds aprox 400lbs of band tension with my arm length. average by themselves are approx 300lbs at lockout.

the 615 was about an inch from touching. thats where it settled and i didnt roll up to touch.

1 more heavy bench before the meet, so ill move up next week and see what happens.

yesterday i went

light stretching then

raw:
bar x 8 or 10
135 x 4 or 5
225 x 1
315 x 1
365 x 1
added shirt and hit the 465.

all raw warm ups are with a 4" piece of pvc under my low back to loosen it up as well.

depends too on if we using kilo plates or 100lb plates to lift. with kilo plates the warm ups are bar, 165, 275, 386, then add shirt for a 496.

my shirt is very tight right now. i weighed 314 on the calibrated scales at the gym yesterday. i have the shirt set up as loose as i can get it and it still hittin hard as heck. it would have taken some work to get the 615 to touch yesterday. if i load the shirt up no tellin what it would take to touch. im gonna go 635-645 next week and see what happens. the upcoming meet is in lbs so i havent used the kilo plates for benching.

thnks peebs
i may cut some volume out and just go for maxes in the shirt soon
generally i go a little heavier with my wrm ups (raw) using a close grip nothing taxing

i have ring finger on the rings for warm ups lately. once the shirt is on back to comp grip.

i cut my dead warm ups way back.

last dead session warm ups went like this (used kilo plates) raw 275 x 2, 496 x 1, suited up 650 x 1. then on to work sets. travis talked me into a lot less warm ups on deads. i have also cut squat warm ups back as well. all singles after the bar weight and moving up 50k at the time. bar, 176, 286, 396, 507, add trainer and wraps, 617, full gear straps down 727, then on to work sets straps up. i may even drop a couple of these warm ups sooner or later too.

hmmm interesting i know for deads i need to at least feel the weight so even if its just a single i need to pull it..squat wise i dont mind taking smaller jumps in the beginning but then making alrger jumps for work sets-plus with my squatting situation its just to much of a pain in the ass to walk out a heavy weight and the only go up 40 lbs and walk it out again..kinda dumb lol

heres gary franks warm ups at the wpo in chicago.

squat
500ish raw plus belt for 1
925 trainer + belt for 1
thats it

deads
500ish for a single belt only
thats it.

travis warm ups at the seniors for deads was
405 raw x 1
635ish full gear x 1
thats it

both if these guys feel too many warm ups, esp in a meet, drains your energy. i been applying these pricnipals slowly but surely and its working. i watched alot of guys at the wpo and many of them dont waste much energy on warm ups. a lot of prewarm up stretching, a few warm ups then hit the stage for openers.
