pullinbigs training log.

i dont know what to tell ya other then i havent changed a thing other than my training in the last several months. supps, nutrition, its all the same. training with kyle week in and week out really pushes me to improve on my lifts. we try different stuff and i believe what im doing now is the heat for me.

one more heavy squat session monday then thats all the heavy work til the meet.

as of today my equipped total for this trainig cycle is 2267 and i will be attempting a 903 squat come monday. of course that total dont mean anything less its in a meet but its just where my equipped gym lifts are at.

joe the shirt was set up as loose as it will go. i gained about 10 or 12 pounds since my last meet it fits very tight. i could have touched if i rolled up. it just stopped where it did and i pressed. if i loaded the shirt up it would not have even been close to touching. i had it pulled all the way up on my shoulders (which is how i like my shirt anyway) and high up in the front with slack in the belly and my belt loose.

Hopefully some big numbers fall in a couple weeks. I got to look over that journal and see what you have been doing, your bench has been awesoem as of late.

maybe if you came by one shirt day youd know that. :D
I had my non-work cloths packed and ready to go in the car yesterday, just in case I was able to come by.

I plan to be there to see you squat 904 lbs Monday.

joe the main changes to bench routine is this:

raw day on tuesday is low end pause work with pinkies/ring fingers on the rings. i do singles only, this allows for setup practice. db work with a hammer grip paused for sets of 4-8. then high rep band work for front/side/rear delts.

top end work on fri: either raw/shirt work for singles, then boards presses for triples/singles raw or shirted and alternate them with heavy band tension low bar weight every other week off 4 borad shirted or raw. all this is done with comp grip.

plus i throw in rotator work 2 or 3 times pr month with bands or cable machine.

kyle has benched 5 or better raw 2x in the last four weeks now on top end day. i can only dream of a 5 raw bench but it is a goal. i think im prolly around 455 now if i just warmed up and used comp grip. the 445 was ring on rings after several paused sets. its been a while since i worked much on my raw bench but i feel it may be contributing to the increse in shirt work as well.

great bench #'s pullin. Do the static hold help your grip problems as well?

just starting the hook grip training. it will take a while to get it fully implemented. got a a push/pull met in april so this prolly be my first meet to use it and deffinately by june for the apf nationals. i dont have a choice at this point cause my grip is holding my dead-lift progress back.

interesting, i have noticed those heavy band tension workouts you were doing, especially when you were fighting to lock out 606. It seems you have skyrocketed from their. Gets me interested. Great benching, and good luck.

the heavy band tension was a suggestion by chris cook. he hit 905 at a meet a few weeks ago and has hit 1015 in the gym (or jes missed it, cant remember). he also said to stop push downs and other tri movements like that, so we dropped them and my elbows feel much better.

thanks

what sort of tri exercises are you doing instead?

benching is it. top end day smokes um pretty good. heavy band tension, boards, shirt work, they add up and my tris are growing as well. plus on low end day i use a narow grip so once again they get hit.

i weighed in at 298 for the apf nationals in june, 304 for the push/pull meet oct 1 and now i am around 315, 316.
