pullinbigs training log.

thanks guys. the first one was high. just kinda got a feel for the weight and to see if it was gonna crush me or not. =0l

second one went down and up no prob.

looks like ill open up around 840 or so and go from there. anyway thats what i was told yesterday. id love to squat nine at my first meet back, esp since i havent trained heavy squats in nearly 3 years. find out in 11 days. :D

12/06/05 tues:
raw pause bench, ring finger on rings singles
365#, 405#, 405#

we on cruise control til the meet now.

12/08/05 thurs:
hook grip work sumo deads, singles w/static hold
165#, 275#, 386#, 496#, 606# (nope, ouch!!)
10 second static holds 315# x 2

just messin around today. killin time before the meet.

the 496 didnt hurt at all. the 606 felt like my thumbs were ripping off. =0l

a little here and a little there and we'll have it fo long. i hope.

If one is a conventinal deadlifter, what is the benefit of doing sumo deads in their routine? I'm guessign it would just blast the quads harder.

i switched over to sumo a week or 2 ago.

but as far as training goes it just hits muscles a little different. good mix is nice for overall growth.

12/09/05 fri:
shirted bench, opener, 495# x 1, 545# x 1 (1/2" from touching) so ill open around 550ish and go from there.

lets face it unless you are a gifted puller how will you know if sumo is better for you than conventional? you wont unless you train them both and see what works...besides that sumo will hit the hips/groin more than conv being strong in one will help the other

Could you post any vid of your sumo deadlift?

does pulling sumo help your squat?
reason i ask is sometimes i get real sore in the groin area after squatting deep, and ( after reading these posts) I thought that maybe doing sumo deads might help stretch and strengthen these muscles.
