I dunno why, but my back is always very nicely bent on an angle whenever I do sumos; it never rounds, even when I go heavy. Maybe I just have a strong core, who knows, but I haven't done abs in ages either :goof:
 
core and legs...both of which are still weak for me...

hmm...I think i'll drop by sumo pounds for a while and strictly work on my form for now...

Yes, on weighted hypers you can hold a plate or a bar, as you like.

I like static bar holds for grip work. Like if you're doing rack pulls but remain holding at the top. I used to do farmers walks and hold plates too.
